Chapter 28
She could feel him, he was there. she knew it. No one else could mimic his chakra. And she could never forget it. Though it kind of hurt to run so quickly, after being locked up for months, she couldn't help but push herself harder.
He was there, she could almost smell his scent on the wind. She couldn't wait to be back in his arms or tell him of the kits they'd made together. Their beautiful kits. Yuna smiled sadly to herself as she thought of the three bundles of fur she'd left behind in their home village.
---FLASHBACK---
"I don't understand why you can't just stay here."
The kyuubi looked up from where she was tucking in her children. Two boys and a darling girl. Her greatest treasures. The half-demon triplets shared little resemblance to either of their siblings.
The first born, a boy, was raven furred with three little whiskers on each cheek. Like his mother, he bore nine tails. His eyes were dark as starless nights, just like his father's.
The second born, another boy, held much more resemblance to his mom. His fur was red, a few shades lighter than hers, his skin nearly as tan as well. His whisker markings were darker than his brother's, and his own red tails much thicker. Yet he too held his father's eyes.
The third and last born, the only girl of the litter, was a ginger furred beasty, much like Kurama's fur tone. Her eyes were blood red, with black shadows over her eye lids. She could have been the orange version of her mother. If not for the pale porcelain skin she possessed, or the small line under each eye, just like her father.
Yuna smiled as she let the ginger kyuubi curl one of her tail's around her hand. She'd finally gotten all of them to sleep, after a long feed, and knew this was her only chance if she was going to leave.
"If I stay here, we will lose more lives than we save."
"What about your kits, they'll need their mother." Mebuki frowned.
The crimson kyuubi sighed, moving away from her darlings. "Mah, I'll end this war and come back before they can even remember I was gone."
She knew the elder mother would have a problem with this, but she had to go, it was the only way Yuna could ensure they would be safe. "Please, Mebuki-san. This kyuubi is doing this for all our children. She's going to bring everyone back."
The blonde sighed, hesitantly nodding her head. Before she pulled the new mother into a tight embrace. The kitsune had changed back into her old blue robe and black pants with white heels. She hardly looked like she'd even been carrying three kits for nine months.
"Just don't get yourself killed while you're at it. They'll be waiting for you."
Yuna nodded, looking over at her sleeping children. She'd be back before they could remember she'd left. She almost smiled as she thought of how Sakura and Naruto would tease her when they discovered the names.
She gave each kit a final kiss on the forehead, whispering their names as she did. "Hiro... Zero.. Mio... Mommy's going to make everything okay. She promises."
Yuna took the chain off from around her neck, smiling at the ring that dangled from it. She kissed it as well, before hanging it over the three kyuubi's cradle. "She won't let anything hurt you, ever."
-----END-FLASHBACK-----
Shaking her head of the memories, the kyuubi focused on the chakra source in front of her. Surely he'd be able to sense and hear her by now. Sure a small part of her was wondering how he was alive after she'd held his cold corpse in her arms, but the hope of seeing him again blinded her judgment.
"Itachi!" She cried out, tears forming as she imagined being held in his arms again, after lying alone for so long. To her distress she received no reply, making her that much more eager to reach his location.
"Itachi! Where are you?!"
Her heart was pounding as the terrain changed from trees to rocks. Her eyes scanned for her lover, finding his chakra in a cave. "Itachi!" She pelted in fun speed, only to have a hand pull her to an abrupt halt. Causing the beast to back lash into who had grabbed her.
The demon yelped in surprise, falling into the arms of who had pulled her back. Immediately the nine tailed beast accepted the arms around her, cuddling into the body she'd missed so much, and taking in as much of his scent as she could. She knew her love for him would never truly die.
"Itachi!" She churred, nuzzling her nose into the crook of his neck, trying to feel as much of him as possible.
Though to her displeasure, all he did was hold her up, not even trying to feel her body or kiss her into tomorrow. It hurt to let go, but she stepped away from him, looking him up and down.
Her eyes widened as she took in the cracks along his flesh and the black of his sclera. Was this the price of immortality? Her hand went to hesitantly trace the line going across his face, and then the one going up his forehead and along his chin.
"Darling?" Her voice shook as he finally met her gaze, though it seemed he did not want to. As if he didn't even want to look or acknowledge her.
"Amazing, isn't he? Though I must say I'm surprised you've already birthed his children."
Itachi jolted, looking at her with a larger stare, the same moment she saw Kabuto step out from behind him. He looked overly pleased with himself. Even sporting a cocky smirk as he looked between the two love birds.
"You did this?" She hissed, glaring at the snake scaled man.
Kabuto cooed at how she stepped protectively in front of her resurrected husband. "I thought your baby would like their father there. Tell me, does it look like him?"
She sneered at his question. He appeared too interested in her children. "Kyuubi's kits can survive without a father. Can't you see her mate is suffering? You shouldn't have brought him back."
Anyone could see Yuna's heart was breaking with each word she spoke. She didn't want him gone, she had made it clear over the last eight or nine months how much she wanted him back. She just knew he was better off in heaven.
"Y-Yuna..." The kyuubi winced at the voice she'd dreamed about for months on end, tears springing to her eyes, as she looked back at her past lover.
His eyes held regret as he caressed her face, bringing her lips to meet his. She responded immediately, kissing him with enough force to make him take a step back. Even after death, he couldn't force her away forever.
They parted much too soon for the tailed beast's pleasure. She went to voice her disapproval. When a voice brought everyone's attention to the cave entrance.
"I found you! What did you come here for?"

Kinaru: So.... after a few rough words from my sister. I thought I'd tortured you enough and started writing this chapter, effective immediately. Lesson learned: don't do cliffhangers when one of your followers is your roommate.
Anyway. I hope you enjoyed! Please vote follow and review!
BTW if you're trying to follow along with the mange, we're at Chapter 578: A Weakness of Despair. I would recommend if you haven't already, read that chapter and work towards finishing the manga before you continue reading this.
I don't want to get yelled at for giving any spoilers.
Also, for the record, I don't own Naruto, only Yuna and her kits.
Hopefully I'll update again later!
