Chapter 11

“Mah, I'm going on alone. You can go wherever the hell you want.”

Sasuke frowned still rubbing some sleep from his eyes. The demon had woken up long before him, and she was already talking about nonsense of leaving before he'd even completely opened his eyes.

“We have orders to take you personally to Ame.”

“Had, Kyuubi is overriding them.” She retaliated, pulling her cloak on. “Mah, I have someone to find anyway, you'll only get in the way.”

The Uchiha scowled at this, getting up.

“How can we get in your way when you're too sick to fend for yourself?” Karin mumbled, crossing her arms over her chest.

“Do remind me, Mortal, who was scared out of their wits when I changed forms?” Yuna's tone was ice and she met the shorter woman's gaze with no fear or respect only dissatisfaction.

“You little b-..” The kunoichi was cut off by a stern glare, from the Uchiha that had nudged her.

“Kyuubi, I'd like to speak with you. Alone.” Sasuke shot the rest of his team the same glare, before leading the demon a good twenty meters from the campsite.

Her arms were crossed when he turned to look at her, he knew she knew he would have something to say about going alone. They had always been like that, ever since Kakashi started having the Uchiha walk her home. Even after Naruto had took over the job, he still followed.

“Mah, I'm going, you can't stop me.” She grumbled, glancing to the side.

The raven couldn't help but think of the night before, when she'd looked so small in his arms, the kyuubi before him was nothing like that kitsune. “I think it would be better for you if we continued on together.”

Her brow creased as she looked back at him. Her pupils thinned simultaneously narrowing with her eyes. “You of all mortals should know this Kyuubi has never been a team player.”

“You're a Solo-nin, I know. But think about the last three years. You've been on more team missions than you were with Team seven.” Sasuke said, stepping forward. “You should be able to handle my team for a few days.”

“That was a special arrangement.” She said blankly. But emotions quickly lit up in her eyes as she continued. “Leader-sama placed this demon with the Uchiha who nursed her back to health, and the swordsman who became a protector for her.”

The Uchiha before her didn't seem to like this information anymore than her leaving, as she noticed a slight flash in his eyes. He really did hate her mate. She sighed, holding up a hand to silence him before he started another argument.

“And I'm going back to the other remaining members of Akatsuki and my only teammate.” She turned away from him, taking a few steps, before pausing. “I wouldn't expect you to understand my feelings for them, after all, you've severed all your bonds with anyone.”

With that said, she vanished in a flash of red. Sasuke couldn't help but feel the anger that rushed into him. She made him sound so heartless. If he had been truly heartless wouldn't he have shoved her away when she sought comfort, or even left her to be captured by some anbu?!

If he had actually severed all his bonds, wouldn't they have parted after traveling a safe distance from Konoha. Instead of falling into their old patterns, hating one another, yet still caring enough to try to help each other.

It seemed Yuna was the one that was cutting all ties, with anyone that didn't meet her standards anyway. As far as he knew, the only people she seemed to care about now were the Akatsuki and her dead husband.
