Chapter 36

To say Obito was disappointed would have been an understatement. Probably the largest understatement of the year. He was beyond disappointment, he was pissed off now.

The uncontrollable flame, that had been burning in Yuna's demonic orbs had completely diminished. Replaced with a strong determination to take him down in any way she thought necessary, and it was all thanks to the kyuubi's blonde jinjuriki friend and Itachi's damn little brother. Oh yes, he was definitely going to kill them in the most painful way possible.

"I could make your dreams come true, you need only stop fighting Yuna. Everything you ever wanted, I can give it all to you."

"That's a load of shit!" The demon retorted.

"I'm going." Sasuke declared, using susanoo. "You coming, Naruto?"

Yuna watched in surprise as Naruto lit up in his biju mode. She hadn't given it much thought earlier, but now it felt like he was the burning hope that resided in each and everyone of them. He would be the one to lead them to victory.

"I'm going too, Sasuke!"

"It's almost time to sleep. I'll take you into the dreams.... There's no more time..."

Yuna winced as the deformed Uchiha attacked, casting everyone, including herself, back. Naruto forced himself back onto his knees, though anyone could see he was as tired as everyone else.

"Mah, someone get this kid a medal..." The demoness groaned, rolling over onto her side.

"Why do you stand up...?" Obito asked, frustrated by the blonde's determination. "For what purpose are you fighting? For your friends? Or for the world?... Listen... One day your friends will betray you, and love will become hate. You should know already. Both the people of the village and Sasuke betrayed you and Jiraiya's love gave you hatred."

The kyuubi, beside Naruto, forced herself onto her hands and knees. If Naruto wasn't going to give up, neither would she. She'd be with him to the end.

"You're like me. Hatred will increase and you will change." Obito said, frowning down on the jinjuriki and crimson demon. "And now, more pain is awaiting you."

"Can you still say that you'll never change?! Your friends might betray you again. The alliance might start another war, and you don't even know whether you can win against me.." Obito continued, his brow furrowed. "There's no reason to fight for this world any more. It will end in a few minutes. Why are you still fighting?!"

Together, Naruto and Yuna rose to their feet, the demon attempting to support the blonde, but he shrugged her hands away.  He didn't want to give Obito the satisfaction of seeing him in a weak state.

"Because it's my ninja way." He growled, just barely able to stand on his feet. Yuna's ears perked as she heard Sasuke and Juugo rising to their own feet. She hadn't noticed the raven landing on her other side. "I will never go back on my word. That's my ninja way."

"Let's finish this with the next attack, Naruto." Sasuke suggested, his susanoo overlapping with the jinjuriki's kyuubi form around him.

"Yeah. I'll sleep tomorrow. I can dream on my own!" Soon the biju mode was completely covered by Sasuke's jutsu.

"No matter what you do nothing will change." The Juubi jinjuriki sighed, looking up to the sky. "Look above you. What can you see from the hole in the ceiling? It's the moon. It's almost time to go to the moon lit dreamland."

"The moon's dream will fill this hole of hell.. The time has finally come!" He shouted.

Yuna frowned, glaring up at the man as he grasped the sword once used by the sage of six paths. This wasn't good, they would only have one shot to take out Obito and if they failed the whole world would suffer.
