Chapter 26

"Mah. He's not here this time either?"

Sakura gave her crimson haired friend a pitied look as she guided her down the stairs. "We'll we're trying to protect him too. He and the eight tails jinjuriki have been sent off to a safe place."

The demon scowled, looking down at her stomach. "I guess the only reason they didn't do the same with this kyuubi is because of her condition." She mumbled.

The pinkette smiled softly. "I'm glad they didn't, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten to see you again."

Yuna rolled her eyes at this, her old friend didn't understand, she would have preferred to be sent to some mystery location. Not to her past home. There were just as many dangers here as there were out there. Couldn't any of the Kages see that?

Sakura ignored her silence, and led her to the living room. "Okaa-san wants to go shopping for clothes and supplies." She began, nodding to the kitsune's enlarged stomach. "We should find out the gender."

"No."

"Aw come on Yuna-chan. Don't you want to know what you're having?" The kunoichi frowned cutely, crossing her arms.

"No. Kyuubi will know what her kit is soon enough." The beast hissed, crossing her arms, and glaring at the pink haired nin stubbornly.

Sakura pouted. "It would make it easier.... We could know the gender and  chose a theme for a nursery."

A sigh left Yuna's lips, as she settled on the couch. "Forests. Like the ones kyuubi and her mate grew up in. That's what she wants her kit's room be."

Her gaze drifted out the window, unfortunately the trees were not in sight. This side of the village was only houses and buildings, very little trees were in it, and not enough to give off the forest appeal.

She missed the trees over her head. That was one thing Suna had been missing. The kitsune promised herself, the first chance she'd got, she'd take her baby out under the trees. Let them see the forest through her eyes. It had been her only sanctuary when the rest of the world was crashing down around her.

"Forests?" Sakura sounded disappointed, her shoulders slouching. "Why not something cute? Like pink elephants? or blue dogs?"

Yuna grimaced, getting back up. "That's just not a kyuubi's style, Sakura-chan. We're animals, we crave nature. The forests is the one place where Itachi and I could just lay for hours, doing nothing but stare at the leaves and branches above us.." She said, going to the new picture she noticed on the wall.

It was a picture of Naruto, the pinkette, Kakashi, Sai, and whom Sakura had called Yamato. The jounin that had been sending her nothing but hate the first time they met. It looked like Sai was using a real smile in the picture this time. They looked to be out in the forest somewhere.

"Living here in the leaf, you should recognize that feeling of relaxation under the tree's cover." The kyuubi pointed out, looking back at her old teammate.

Sakura shrugged, she was never found of the woods to begin with. She usually only went there when she was in trouble. Or because the other girls had been teasing her, it wasn't comforting, it just reminded her she was alone.
