Back in Time
Third POV
"Thou say Perseus was born from a golden shower?"
Jason nodded. "The king found out, and he cast Danae and Perseus, into the sea to avoid the wrath of killing the king of the gods' son and his daughter. They washed ashore the island of Seriphos, where the king's fisherman brother, Dictys, found them."
"Then?"
"The king of Seriphos, Dictys's brother, Polydectes, fell in love with Danae, Perseus's mother. Perseus kept him away, and he in return wanted to send him away in disgrace. He held a banquet, and required each guest bring a gift, specifically a horse. Perseus didn't have one, so he told Polydectes to name one. Polydectes said to bring him the head of Medusa."
"I have heard this part. He went to seek for Lady Athena's guidance, did he not?"
"Yes, he did. Lady Athena advised he find the Hesperides. He did this by going to the Greae, or the Gray Sisters, the three who share a single eye. He stole their eye and threatened to destroy it, so they had no choice but to lead him to the Hesperides who had the weapons to defeat Medusa. Perseus received many gifts, such as a knapsack for Medusa's head, a sword from Lord Zeus, a shield from Lady Athena, winged sandals from Lord Hermes, and Lord Hades' stolen helm of darkness to hide."
"Right. He went to Medusa's cave and defeated her, then proceeded to save Princess Andromeda from Cetus the sea monster. He then married her." Perseus finished.
"Yes, and he killed Phineus, to whom she was promised to. They left for Tiryns in Argos, starting the Perseid dynasty by finding the Mycenae. He also went back to his mother who was taking refuge from the violent advances of Polydectes, and therefore killed him and crowned Dictys king, and consort of Danae. He also returned his gifts from the gods, and gave Medusa's head to Lady Athena so she could put it on Aegis."
"And then Perseus eventually killed Acrisius, didn't he? And gave the throne to Proetus's son?"
"One time during war, he thought Medusa's head wast not working, so he turned it towards himself and killed himself."
Perseus gave a look which clearly said, That's dumb. Jason either ignored it or didn't seem to notice it. He moved on and started to ask something else.
"Is that it?"
"I must know about Heracles as well." Perseus said.
Jason nodded. "It all started when Lady Hera made Lord Zeus promise that the child born a specific night would become the High King in the House of Perseus, as Heracles is a descendant of Perseus. The night Heracles and Iphicles, his mortal twin, were to be born, Lady Hera went to Ilithyia, the goddess of childbirth, and forced her to slow the birth down. She made Eurystheus, the other descendant who wasn't a son of Zeus, be born prematurely, thus making him the High King. But Galanthis, the servant of Heracles's mother Alcmene, had lied to the goddess of childbirth, saying she'd already delivered the twins. Ilithyia quickly untied the knots and thus allowed Heracles and Iphicles to be born."
"Then Heracles strangled the two snakes in his crib?" asked Perseus.
Jason nodded. "Sent by the queen herself, to kill Heracles." He would do anything to stall the time. "Lady Athena herself took Heracles to Lady Hera, and that day, the stretch of the stars in the sky at night was made. Thou do know that was because of her suckling him, correct?"
"Of course I do. Thou keep going now."
"Well, Heracles then killed his music teacher with his lyre. Teacher's name wast Linus. His father, Amphityron, sent him to herd the cattle on the mountain-"
