The sun again (for the umpteenth time in this life!) rose over the horizon to illuminate a new day. Some things are made to take their course no matter what.
As much as Shen did not want dawn, he had to put up with it, and together with the sun's rays, let go of his bitter melancholy.
Descending from the springs to the Muan school, he went out to the observation deck. The world under the mountain was drowning in dawn fog. The gentle pink rays were refracted by the clouds, plunging the air into warm shades giving hope for a better future.
The tension that gripped Shen's shoulders receded. After all, today was such a beautiful day for Al's birthday, and he had no right to ruin everything.
Shen smiled, thinking that he had completely forgotten about the invitations. Well, you have to invite everyone verbally right now. (And he was not at all embarrassed that the sun had just risen over the horizon.)
Although, approaching the school, Shen realized that his calculation was quite correct. The sun has just risen - and the disciples are already on their feet. It even became a little embarrassing that he, such a supposedly glorified charmer, considered it something out of the ordinary to stand with the first roosters.
While the disciples at Muan School were writing pirouettes in the backyard, Shen headed for the guest room where Annis was accommodated. The girl was also already on her feet. After washing herself with water from a spring gushing in the garden, she turned around, wiping her face with her sleeve, and noticed Shen standing on the terrace. Annis was immediately embarrassed by her peasant behavior, but quickly pulled herself together, regaining her composure. She was much more worried about the slap in the face that she slapped him in a fit of feelings. Despite the fact that the act of the teacher demanded condemnation, he still remained her teacher, and such behavior was unacceptable.
Annis bowed deeply and greeted him respectfully.
Shen just sighed imperceptibly. These teenagers are not so easy to deal with, and there are only two of them. It seems that he was still lucky in this. Never in my past life was I interested in pedagogy, and here you have a great teacher! And try to remember what worried him himself at the age of sixteen or seventeen. Until I started communicating with them, I did not feel that much of an adult, but now, comparing, I often noticed how much more balanced and judicious behaves in comparison with impulsive youth. However, he had a vague idea of how to convey to them his "teacher's experience".
"Stop avoiding me already," he said first. "Let's agree that I admit that you had a reason to be angry with me, and you ask for forgiveness for your inappropriate behavior."
Annis immediately bowed down, holding out her hands in front of her, palms joined horizontally.
"This disciple is sorry! I ask the teacher to assign a punishment!"
"Well, okay," Shen agreed and smiled slyly. "You'll show us today your skillful game of the Gutsin."
(He knew from the novel by Era that the main character plays beautifully.)
Annis looked up in surprise.
"Teacher?"
"At sunset we will celebrate Al's birthday."
Annis stared at him in surprise. Shen smiled charmingly, which made her blush and look down again.
With a wave of his hand (she hardly noticed), Shen turned around and headed into the courtyard with a well, where they often drink tea on the terrace of the main building of Muan. It was also necessary to "send out invitations" to the brother and sister, and then come up with an unobtrusive excuse to lure the birthday boy to the meeting.
