"Shen!"
Muan just forced himself to move from his place, when Shen sat down, straightening his back, and calmly stared at him.
"Are you okay?" Muan asked tensely.
"Yes."
He got up from the grass and walked over to the girl still lying in the center of the seal. Kneeling down beside her, he took her wrist, checking the pulse. Muan got to his feet and walked over to him.
"How is she?"
"Will be okay," Shen said. "Now she needs to regain the strength that the curse drew from her. Pick her up. We need to take her to the house.
"System!" Shen commanded mentally. "Activate the piano that can help me locate Mori."
[Bzdyn! You have exhausted the number of bonus pianos available at a given period.]
"You said that they are generated in unlimited quantities."
[Yes, but there are restrictions on the number of pianos in one story arc. So that the plot does not slide into the theater of the absurd and ridiculous coincidences. The plot is most important!]
"It's clear"
Muan raised Annis into his arms. Shen frowned at him.
"Come on," he said.
They walked in silence to the headman's house. Muan glanced at Shen, not daring to continue the interrupted conversation, when Shen simply walked forward silently and purposefully. Already when they had entered the village, Shen remembered that he hadn't had the opportunity to tell Muan about what he had found in the abandoned monastery, so he briefly told him about the role of the headman in this story.
"We have to tell Lady E that her son is alive," Muan said enthusiastically as they have already got to the headman's house.
"What for? Her son died twenty years ago. And after we catch Mori, his body will also die, a life in which will not survive without feeding negative energy."
"Does that suit you?" Muan protested.
"What can I do about it? I cannot bring people back to life or heal the hopelessly sick."
"You can... well, at least talk about it with great sympathy?"
"It will not change anything. Okay, put Annis down and let's go."
Despite Muan's expectations, after he put the sleeping girl on the bed, Shen did not leave the house, but went into its depths.
"Lady E! Lady E!"
A maid blocked his way.
"Lady E has already gone to sleep!.." she said, screeching at the last note, since Shen, without due respect, simply pushed her aside from the door.
Opening the door and going inside, he found that the maid was not cunning - lady E in fact was already in bed, now - blinking in surprise, trying to shake off from her eyelashes the remnants of deep sleep. The headman was not with her.
"Lady E, where is the white-haired young man that was with us?"
"What?" The woman exclaimed excitedly. "I don't know... I don't know! He has disappeared?!"
"And where is your husband, Lady E?"
"He..."
"Have you really all this time, all these years, not paid attention to nights like this, when he disappeared?"
