The owner of the Cursed Peak was sleeping peacefully, with his nose buried in the pillow. Black hair covered his face and caught the moonlight streaming in through the half-open window. Muan sat down on the edge of the bed, leaned over, and gently brushed away a stray strand of hair. It didn't wake Shen up, and Muan sat for a long time, looking at his serene face and feeling calm and peace in his heart.

He took his hand and gently applied the healing ointment to the scratched skin. Turning the palm over, he froze, long staring at the cursed seal, most of all, it resembles a black sun. On a sudden impulse, he lifted his hand to his lips and kissed it. Alive, warm, and cursed.

Waking up from a dream, at first, Shen thought that he was lying in his warm, soft bed in the black castle. Only after a couple of minutes, the brain remembered how the previous day ended.

Shen rolled onto his back and stared up at the wooden ceiling. A-a-and... it wasn't a familiar room on the Golden Dawn Peak in Shian's residence either. He sat up in bed and looked around. The room seemed bright and not particularly remarkable, but very soon all Cursed Peak's owner's attention was taken up by the thin silver ring on his index finger.

«So none of this was a dream,» he realized with regret.

[+5 points for completing 1/3 of the task «Searching for rings»!] System delighted.

Shen got off the bed, straightened his clothes, and combed his hair with the after finding out he'd found near the mirror. At some point, comb got tangled in his hair and did not want to get out at all. Shen got so angry that almost tore out a piece of his hair along with the damn thing.

Angry as hell, he left the room, slamming the doors behind him. When he saw Muan, Shen immediately attacked him, shouting that he had purposely gives this comb for him.

Muan who didn't immediately realize why Shen was yelling, couldn't help but chuckle and after finding out burst out laughing.

Realizing that this shameless chump won't help him, Shen sat down at the table and began quietly and patiently untangle his hair. Muan poured tea into the cups and pushed one toward him.

Finally, Shen untangled the comb from his hair and put it in his pocket. He looked down at the tea bowl and then up at the Muan and said:

"If you expect that out of gratitude, I'll..."

"Shh!" the lord of the Peak of Glory interrupted him, putting a finger to lips. "Drink your tea, please."

Shen paused, staring at the bowl again. Well, that was fine with him.

«What should I do?» he only couldn't understand. «Mm, System? Do I have to wait for some fairy messenger to appear? Or should I go somewhere myself?»

This arc in the original novel was very different from what it was now. Let's start with the fact that the central character in it was the main hero, and not the main villain. He then met three girls in trouble. The first was afraid of needles, but still pricked and fell into a deep sleep. The second was afraid of wild animals, but still went into the forest and was kidnapped by a wolf. And the third one kept losing her shoes.

The main character easily solved all their problems: he woke up the first, defeated the monster-kidnapper of the second and found comfortable shoes to fit the third. In fact, there was nothing remarkable about this arch at all, it was somewhere near the end of the story when the author became too lazy to write something decent.

And now it seemed Shen that the arc had already become much more complicated. And with his level of bad luck it can get even worse. And there was no main character around to compensate for this. Eh. Shen drank his tea sadly. System gave him forty-eight hours, about ten of which have already passed.
