(Narrator's POV)

The next day, you and Johnny went to the Curtis house to hang out. What Johnny had said was still lingering in your mind.

I really do like Ponyboy. Though, that's not the point, You reflected, Johnny just doesn't understand that it's not as simple as he thinks. Unless it is and I'm just making a big deal out of it...

Your thoughts were interrupted by slamming doors, and of course Darry giving lectures about the slammed doors.

(Your POV)

"Hey y/n, hey Johnnycakes." Dally exclaimed.

"Hi Dallas, how are ya?" Johnny inquired.

"Keep it down would ya? Man, I'm dealing with a hangover alright?"

Johnny looked at me and rolled his eyes playfully. I chuckled at his childish behaviour. Right then, Ponyboy came out of the bathroom wearing a fluffy pink bathrobe. I tried to keep my laughter in. The other's were already howling away, giving me permission to snicker too.

"Heya Pony, got any duplicates? Maybe we could all go out for a spa day!" Two-Bit joked. Ponyboy whacked the back of Two's head, starting a wrestling match.

"Very- funny... Two-Bit," Ponyboy struggled under his breath.

"Breakfast!" Darry called from the kitchen. I squealed when four hungry teenage boys just about trampled me. Steve and Sodapop were most likely working a shift at the DX. Maybe we could visit them later.

Usually there would be quite a bit of chatting, but everyone was practically starved I guess. The only thing you could hear was a bunch of loud chewing and lips smacking together. Ponyboy always smacks his lips when he eats, it's honestly really annoying. Darry spoke up once or twice though, about Ponyboy's homework and schooling and how it was his turn to do the dishes today.

I volunteered to help Pony clear the table and wash dishes. Everyone sat around in the living room playing poker while Darry got ready for work. Washing the dishes took extra long because Ponyboy kept dancing around the kitchen lip syncing to songs that came on the radio, as well as blotting bubbles on my nose.

When Ponyboy and I finished cleaning, only us, Dallas, and Johnny were in the house. We all agreed on walking around town and going to the nightly double once it's dark.

Hours went by of shoplifting, visiting Sodapop and Steve at the DX, and spectating fights. One of them included a 23 year-old greaser and a Mexican hitchhiker. It must've been around 7pm when we went to the drive-in.

Dally insisted we get in through a hole dug out beneath the fence. He hated doing things the legal way. In fact, he went around trying to break laws. I studied the clouds for a minute, "Looks like we might get a storm," I said.

Halfway through the movie, drops of rain came bucketing down, so we left early. Johnny went home, Dallas ditched us. Probably went to Buck's or to hang out with Tim Shepard. Ponyboy invited me to come back to his house.

I changed out of my soggy clothes, and into a pair of sweatpants and a green shirt Pony gave to me. We were both in the mood for some chocolate cake. Ponyboy was dishing some up for me while I just stared out the window from in the kitchen. He waved his hand in my face, "Y/n, what're you lookin' at?"

"Pony, do you wanna go dance in the rain?"

He eyed me with doubt in his voice, "We kinda just got into dry clothes..."

I made a disappointed face and sat at the dining table stabbing my fork into my cake. Ponyboy slid the plate away from my grasp, "C'mon, let's go," He smirked while grabbing my hand, leading me outside. Before we stepped foot into the gushing rain, Darry yelled at us to grab an umbrella. I had no idea he and Sodapop were even home yet.

The two of us playfully jumped around excitedly, Pony had to keep grabbing my arm for me to stay under the umbrella. We giggled until our abs ached. I got over my fear. I immediately crashed my lips onto his.

When it was time for bed, I started to set up my sleeping area on the couch, but Pony stopped me. He put a finger over his lips and took my hand leading me to his bedroom. We got tucked into the covers with our bodies almost touching. I felt his warm breath on my nose. Today was pretty eventful, so we were both out like a light.

I decided to finish this chapter today in honour of Rob Lowe's birthday ☺️
