(Your POV)

I always walk past the DX to get home from school. Steve Randle works there part-time. What an idiot. He's been chasing me for years now, since we dated and broke up in elementary school.

Yeah, I'm not exactly proud of that.

"If you were a booger, I'd pick you." Steve snickered, leaning against the car he was working on. He slipped, caught himself, then acted as if nothing happened. He's so obnoxious and full of himself. I've learned to just ignore him.

(Steve's POV)

Y/n and her group of friends came by the DX the next day.

I smirked and called after y/n, "If I said you had a nice body, would you hold it against me?"

I heard her friends giggling, "Steve's so hot, y/n, you should give him another chance."

Y/n rolled her eyes, "No, I hate him. Let's go."

Y/n strutted up to Sodapop, who was filling up someone's car. She started flirting with him.

Soda's my best buddy. We're as close as brothers, but he's also the reason I'm insecure. Everyone is so obsessed with Soda, never me. Nobody flirts with Steve Randle, the guy with a big nose and crooked teeth and a bossy attitude. I have to watch people throw themselves at Soda and then give me disgusted looks. I've accepted it though. It's something I just have to live with.

(Your POV)

Throughout the week I kept flirting with Soda, just to annoy Steve. Honestly, though, Soda meant nothing to me. I just wanted to make Steve jealous. He deserves it for being so irritating.

One day after school, I went to the DX by myself to banter with Sodapop again. As I was leaving, Steve suddenly pinned me to the fence and kissed me. He smirked when he pulled away. I slapped that smirk off his face.

"What's wrong with you, jerk!"

I stomped away, clutching my books to my chest. I glanced back at him or one second.

He was heartbroken.
