(Your POV)

I laid in bed while Darry got dressed.

"I'm gonna take the day off work, darling," He prompted.

"You can't afford a day off and you know it, dear," I reasoned. He smirked and insisted, "I'm staying home. Let's spend the day together."

I got up, wearing my nightgown, allowing Darry to place his hands on my hips and kiss the top of my head.

We both got ready, and Darry brought me to the vacant lot to teach me football.

"We'll start with passing, so just stand over there and catch the football," He instructed.

It took a while, but I eventually got the hang of it. We moved onto getting to the end-zone.

I caught the football and rushed to the end-zone, accidentally falling into Darry, and knocking both of us over. We admired each other for a second, then burst into laughter.

Hours later, Darry said we had reservations for a nice restaurant downtown. I guess he's been saving for a while, otherwise we'd never be able to afford it. I put on my most elegant dress - which I haven't had an occasion to wear it for forever - and went into the living room where Darry was waiting.

"You look stunning, darling," He praised. I grinned, "I could say the same to you."

Darry grinned back and planted a passionate kiss on my glossed lips.

We got to the restaurant and had a great time. However, the entire time we were there, Darry seemed incredibly anxious. He kept wiping his hands on his pants as if they were sweaty, and in addition, he kept excusing himself to the bathroom.

"Y/n, darling, I need to tell you something."

"Mhm?"

He stood up from the booth, took out a piece of paper, and began to read from it.

"Y/n l/n, nobody has ever lit up my world quite like you have. You are alluring, wondrous, spirited, and gracious. You've helped me and the gang in more ways anyone could ever conceptualize. There's never been a day when you're not on my mind. Though we've been together for years, everytime you walk into the room, I still get butterflies. You mean the world, and more, to me. Nothing could take away my love for you."

He got down on one knee and pulled out a ring box, revealing a perfect r/c (ring colour of your choice) center stone engagement ring.

"Will you take my hand in marriage?"
