“So…..umm” Charles began “ Uh..Mila Rose! You said you lived in the woo-” before he could finish Mila Rose interrupted. “Rose…., you all can call me Rose.” At first she lifted her head to look at them, but then thought otherwise and continued to stare at her feet. “Oh” said Charles “Well then..Rose, you mentioned you lived in the forest didn’t you?” he asked curiously.
“Yes, I grew up in a cottage just north of this city in the ‘Red Grove’.” Most of the others didn’t know of this place she was talking about, Charles did know, he was fully aware of how rare it is for someone to live there. Naming it the ‘Red Grove’ did seem to keep people away from there, but in actuality it was quite a nice area. In fact Charles knew that only few people are given register to live there, and this sparked his interest. “So, your father, what’s name?” Rose smiled because she knew what he was getting at, after all he is a knight, for him it was obvious. She took a long pause before answering his question “David… Magnus” For a small fraction of a second, all Charles could do was stare in shock. He had a feeling her father was apart of the Royal Guard but….. not him! General Magnus...that’s a name no one ever said anymore. Charles realized what he had just done and decided that he needed to apologize. “Listen.. I’m really sorry I shouldn’t have tried to pry in you-” she cut him off once more “We should really be hurrying, the sun’s going to set soon.” and with that she set off slightly ahead of the others.
The group walked upon a decent sized building close to the edge of the city. The sign suspended above the entrance read “Maria’s Tavern: Grand Reopening!” They all had agreed that they would stay the night here and leave as soon as the caravan was ready. From outside the door, loud mirthful music could be heard. Kaza stepped in first, being very accustomed to situations like these. The others followed in suit. The tavern was filled! Mostly with people such as elves or dwarves.
