Why her? Why now?

“Come on, we are going hunting. Deer skin is the perfect canvas you know.” Kaza said with a wink. Admin replied “Well if we process it enough or use Nicklaus like my slave and make him use magic to process it…” Nicklaus retorted “No way in HELL am I someone’s slave! Besides deer hide would be better if Kaza did it not me.”

“I agree.” Kaza laughed. “I probably know more about fashion anyway.. even if I do dress like an urchin.”

Charles turned to say; “I’ll stop for lunch and hunt deer. Who wants to come. We have two extra bows.” Admin and Snow raised their hands to go.

“I’ll make lunch!! I want to try out my new cookbook!” Kaza yelled. “I want to try the venison pie! Nicklaus, Lily? Can you guys collect herbs?”

“I guess...uh I can go….?” Questioned Rose. “Well, could you hunt with your dagger? If you can’t well, you could carry the dead deer.” Responded Charles sarcastically. “I’ll go find some water… I guess.” She sighed. Everyone gave a sharp turn to the direction they were heading. Admin, Snow, and Charles grabbed the three bows and arrows before heading into the woods. Nicklaus and Lily went in the woods as well, but in a different direction, to gather herbs. Kaza stayed with the caravan to set up for cooking. And Rose left in search of water to boil.

It took Rose awhile before she came upon a stream, it was small and shallow, much like the one near her home is the Red Grove. She took a deep breath through the nose, she missed her small but beautiful home. As she began to fill their containers with water, she heard a slight rustling in wood. Her instincts kicked in, and she dropped the water, grabbing for her dagger. But, before she could unsheath the small blade, a set of arms wrapped around her. One hand covered her mouth, the other holding back her right hand to prevent her from swinging her dagger. The arms dragged her further into the woods, never loosening their tight grip. She managed to yell once, between the fingers, and then she was gone.

Kaza looked up. Shouldn't Rose be back with the water by now? She thought. I need to contact the others, what if she’s in trouble! Kaza shut her eyes and amd triehut her eyes and tried to remember what Nicklaus had told them to do if they ever needed to contact him. Reach out with your mind and  think of me with all your strength. Kaza tried to ‘reach with her mind’. She thought of Nicklaus’s face, and she thought, I need your help, Rose hasn’t returned, and I think she may be in trouble. Round up the others, I am going to look for her. She almost fell on her sword when she got a response from Nicklaus. No. Stay where you are. Charles and I can find her. Don’t do anything dumb, Kaza.

Kaza went anyway. She wasn’t going to sit idly by and let the men do the work. She was going to look for her friend.
