Nicklaus and Charles woke up early with Rose driving. Admin asked Nicklaus “How does four hours of reading books turn you into a magical expert?” Nicklaus answered, “I don’t know, it just comes… naturally.” They left the conversation at that. Until Rose felt like she needed to explain further, being the oldest of the group.
Rose: “You see magic is a… complicated form.”
Charles: “ I’m not sure I follow…”
Rose: “Magic is all dependent on it’s wielder. Imagine when you were young and learning to read, not everyone learns at the same pace, it all depends on the person. Nicklaus is of the lucky sort and can learn very quickly.” She gave Nicklaus a light hearted smile, and added “Your family must be proud of you.” She quickly looked away after saying that and decided to focus on the road. Time remained like this for quite a while, silent.
Charles became annoyed with her sudden silence and tried to get her talking.
Charles: “Hey about that elf in the tavern, don’t let it bother you too much alright?”
Rose: “I’m fine, don’t worry.”
Charles: “You didn’t seem fine…” He said with concern
Rose: “I said I’m alright!” She responded angrily, and as quick as the anger came it was gone again. She simply gave Charles an apologising stare.
Rose: “Can someone else take over? I think I want to rest a moment.”
Charles picked up the straps that are attached to the horse. She stood straight up, grabbing the edge of the caravan for support before stepping inside. She sat, hugging her knees in the corner farthest from the others. The group was thinking about last night how Fendrel wasn’t dead. Lily Bell spoke up “Nicklaus if you can track people down by their aura, does that mean you can track down Fendrel?” This worsened Nicklaus’ mood, but he responded anyway “If I had the time I could. I was busy concentrating, I couldn’t reach my mind out to them, I was just too busy concentrating on my spell. When Rose called my name and said don’t use my spell it was already too late.”
Rose, being the older sister in situations, tried to help them cheer up by getting their minds off the dreadful subject.
Rose: “Umm hey Nicklaus?”
Nicklaus: “What is it?”
Rose: “Well you know I’m a healer, so is it possible to teach me some healing magic?”
Nicklaus: “I don’t know. It may be possible, but I don’t really sense magic in your aura. Well anyway if you wanted to heal cuts use this: Guarire questa persona dei loro tagli! You got it Mila? Next lets cut Admin on the arm.”
Rose: “Yeah I think so lets try! Guarire questa persona dei loro tagli! Umm why is nothing happening? I used it to heal Admin’s cut, but it’s still there.”
Nicklaus: “Here let me try. Guarire questa persona dei loro tagli! Huh, it worked. Sorry I guess you can’t really use magic. That was a simple healing spell.”
Rose: “Oh well I guess I can’t use magic. Lets just let everyone else sleep.”
