The journey must start somewhere

“I’m pretty sure the place is around here somewhere..Ah! Here we are.” Charles stopped the group. “Welcome to William’s Caravan Service.” Charles said enthusiastically. The group looked rather sheepishly at the falling down, mudbrick building. A large handpainted sign that spanned across the clothed entrance read, Willy’s Caravans, now with chance of survival 18%!  A bolted part of the sign fell of and crashed to the ground. Mila Rose spoke up, “Charles, is this safe?”

“Of course it’s safe, dimwit. This is the finest service for travel in this area of country!” Having been called a dimwit, Mila Rose fell silent and crossed her arms. Everyone walked in feeling uneasy as the wooden floors screamed under their feet as if the whole place was falling apart. “Charles where the hell is the caravan so we can get out of here?” Said Admin. Nicklaus shook his head in silent agreement. “Ah, Charles, it has been a very long time!” A man stepped through a beaded curtain covering off a part of the building. “La’ Touv, it has been a long time, old friend!” Charles and the man embraced and kissed each other’s cheeks. “Je imagine que ce est votre partie?” The man spoke to Charles. “Oui , nous avons besoin d'un caravane , ami.” Charles spoke back. “Right away, the wait will take a few days, though.” The man asked sheepishly. Everyone looked in shock at the man. He was significantly shorter than Charles. “Well its more of a group than a party.” Said Admin. The older man look baffled and replied with, “How do you know what I said?” Admin smiled and replied to the man in French saying, “mon petit secret.”  Snow looked oddly impressed.

“Goodbye, I’ll see you in a few days, La’ Touv!” Charles said, practically herding them like sheep through the opening into the street; the man waved cheerily.

“Okay, now let us find a room service.” Charles said, walking off more into the bustling city, with the party following suit. He was a leader, yes, the best one...no. Still the group already had high hopes for the guy. Nicklaus was strangely silent, his hood pulled over his head, the golden lining striking the light. The wind kicked up slightly, making the loose strands of Lily Belle’s silver braid swirl, revealing a missing eye from under her bangs. Winter had just passed in this kingdom, yet there was still a chill to the air. Silence could easily consume this group, they were almost prone to the act of it.
