My head was filled with an ear splitting shriek as my eyes shot open. My sight darted from one place to another, overwhelmed by what was laid before me, a massacre. Snow had blood pouring from her shoulder, Admin lying on the ground, Kaza and Adam were frozen, and all of my friends fighting, fighting the people who have kept me here. Why would they do this?! I asked myself as I slowly pushed myself off the ground. They should have just left me behind! Why are they hurting themselves for me?!I have to stop this, they won't die here because of me, not again! Suddenly my emotions shift to the place I had been trying to hide. I release my tightened jaw and let out a scene stopping screech.
It feels like time has stopped, I can see her. She stood straight as if her body wasn't weak. She's in worse shape than me, and I'm lying here on the ground watching my friends get hurt. Her eyes are no longer cloudy and lost, they stare death into all who catch her glance. This isn't the same Rose we started this journey with, it couldn't be! She flinched a bit when she saw me and Snow, bloody and weak, but she quickly regained her stance as words escaped her lips."Who do you people think you are?! You sick, poor excuses for living beings! How dare you hurt them! You have no right to lay a single touch on them! You think you can harm them, harm me? I am the daughter of Mila Castillo! And you dare think you can do something this disgusting!" She screamed in tears and anger. A child's laughter grew louder and more sinister, Fendrel stepped into my view."It looks like we have been going about this all wrong! We should have gone after your dear little friends sooner. Now unnamed child, tell me what your power is!" Fendrel yelled out for everyone to hear. Power? What power is she talking about? I turned back to Rose and what I saw terrified me, the prince of dark. Rose laughing, looking as if we all weren't in horrible danger, she spoke."It seems even the likes of you hasn't been able to figure me out, I impress myself. You poor arrogant child...you simply don't understand." Rose giggled, Fendrel looked just as confused as me."What the hell are you saying?!" Fendrel squeaked, Rose...What are you doing?"You see...I don't have just one," Rose flicked her wrist and Fendrel was suddenly being wrapped in tree roots. Rose's fist clenched and Fendrel let out a cry as the roots tightened around her body. She put her focus next on the wolves, her hand raised in the air and the wolves' demeanor changed. They all rolled onto the floor, squirming and whimpering, until their breathing came to a hault. She ran over and grabbed on of the brute's arms, her eyes rolling to the back of her head. The man's skin began to burn, until it reached his tunic which burst into flames. The same happened to all the other men, they screamed until they collapsed on the floor, twitching their life away. Her eyes shot back to the front, her normal clouds, she looks almost sleepy, dreaming. Blood began to drip from her nose as she turned her gaze toward me. Her smile is the same, shy and caring, she limps towards me and motions for Snow to come as well. Snow sat beside me as 'Rose' sat on her legs in front of us. Rose looked even more weak than before, it seems like we barely saved her and yet she still walks. Who was that girl from before, it couldn't have been the Rose we all know and care for, not the Rose sitting in front of me, giving me her hopeful smile."Who are you?" I asked in a whisper, she almost looked sad, as if she were upset I'd even ask her that. She responded none the less." I don't have a name so you can call me Rose, now please be quiet so that I can work." She placed her hands on the ground, leafy vines crawled out of the soil and wrapped around mine and Snow's injuries. I flinched as a stinging pain hit my knee, Rose looked up with apologetic eyes."I'm sorry, I promise the pain will subside in a moment." And she was right, I could feel first the broken fragments of my bones reconstructing, then my muscle tissue mending back together, by the time the vines retracted there wasn't even a scar left.
