I watch as Seungmin trembles, still scared from what happened before.

Seungmin: I-I stabbed a-a demon... the b-blood...

My eyes soften when I notice the tears welling up in his eyes.

I gently hold his shoulders and look at him in the eyes.

Hyunjin: Hey, calm down. It's all over, okay?

Seungmin: B-but-

Hyunjin: Shhh, you're safe now.

Seungmin: W-what if he c-comes back and-

Hyunjin: I won't let him hurt you. I'll protect you.

His lips quiver and he lets out a sob, burying his face in my chest.

A knot of guilt forms in my stomach when I feel his tears soaking my shirt, small whimpers and cries leaving his mouth.

I wrap my arms around his and rub his back slowly.

I feel so bad, thinking all of this was unfair for me.

But what about him?

He didn't deserve any of this.

He wasn't even related to leader like Jisung was.

He just got dragged into this mess against his will.

Minho: Hey Hyunjin? Can you come- oh, uh... you keep doing what you're doing...

Seungmin: W-wait... you go. I don't want to hold you back...

Hyunjin: Are you sure? I can stay, it's not a problem.

Seungmin: No, y-you should go...

Hyunjin: Okay, I'll be back soon. Smile for me, yeah?

Nods and gives me a small smile before I turn around and follow Minho out of the room.

Hyunjin: Yeah, what's up?

Minho: So, uhm, since we no longer have a reason to keep them here... I think we should let them go...

Hyunjin: Jisung, Seungmin, and Changbin?

Minho: Yeah, I trust that they won't tell the kings who we are, so...

Hyunjin: But I liked having them here!

Minho: Me too, but we can't just keep them. They're humans and they belong in the palace.

Hyunjin: But...

Minho: I'm sad too but think about how they feel?

Hyunjin: Fine, I'll tell Seungmin.

He nods and walks away, leaving me alone in the hallway.

It's always been like this, I guess. 

Every time I get attached to someone, they leave me.

I should be used to this.
