I lightly knock on the door to my father's office room.

I hear him say "come in," so I slowly push the door open and step inside.

He looks up from his desk, surrounded by piles of paperwork.

Father: What brings you here. I expected you to ignore me for another week or so.

Jisung: I was going to do that, but something important came up.

Father: Important enough for you to lower ego and come see me? I wonder what it is.

I hold back the urge to roll my eyes and decide keeping a straight face is a better option.

Jisung: So you know I got kidnapped. Well, the guy who kidnapped me is the brother of my biological mother.

His eyes widen in shock and I can see his body tense up.

Father: W-what?

Jisung: Yeah, and now he's out to kill me for revenge. The demons you locked up earlier risked their lives to fight against him and save me.

Father: Really? I thought they were dangerous.

Jisung: Maybe if you had listened the countless times I told you, you would know.

Father: Drop the attitude, Jisung. And how do you know about this? Did you sneak out of the castle?

Jisung: No, uh, the guys are, uhm, in my room right now...

Father: What?! Right now?! I will-

Jisung: Father! We already established that they won't harm me, right? Please don't hurt them, they only came to warn me.

Father: ...

Jisung: Please?

Father: Fine, since you're so stuck on keeping them safe. I won't hurt them. But if they dare lay a finger on you, I swear-

Jisung: They won't. I promise.

Father: Okay.

Jisung: The demon that's coming to kill me is still a bit weak, but the guys can't take him on by themselves. Can you get your men to help?

Father: Of course. You're the heir to the throne after all. The whole kingdom would risk their lives to protect you.

Jisung: Great... so...

Father: Don't waste my time and say what you want to say. I'm a king, I'm very busy.
