It was the day after the date and if I was being honest, I'm scared. If something happens between me and someone I don't like to make eye contact, I won't even look your way. As Iris and I are waking to crime studies, I bump into someone. "I'm so sor-" I say but stop when I look up and see that it's Kai... damnit. "Sorry" I say fast and running into the class with my head down. As I sit down Iris hits my back. "What was that?? I thought you had a fun time last night." She say. "It was nothing I'm.... I'm just embarrassed bro." She laughs and continues to hit my back. "Wait till I tell AJ about this, she'll make fun of you." She says while laughing. I wish she wasn't right but she was.... she did make fun of me. In the middle of class, our teachers announces a project. "I've picked your partners and it's posted on google classroom, check it out and sit next to your partner." She says. I go on my phone and see who I'm partnered with. "I hope it's Iris.... or Kai." I think to myself. As I check the list I see who's my partner, I see that Iris has this girl named Bethany that she absolutely hates and I have...... Daniel.... DANIEL?! Oh fuck me! "Brandi...." Iris says. All I do is turn around and she sees how upset I am. I look at Kai and he looks visually mad. His partner's this girl named Miranda that's been all over him for a while. I sit next to Daniel and I don't even look at him. I just sit down and listen to the teacher explain the project. After class, I'm walking to my next class but get pulled into an empty classroom. " Hey Brandi, can we talk." I look and see that it's Daniel... fuck. "What do you need?" I say sounding intimidating. He sighs and talks. "Look I know you guys hate me and I don't blame you, but I hope for this project you'll put those feelings aside so we can get it done." "I'll try, only because I want an A." I say. We exchange numbers and we leave the classroom. As we step out, Kai sees. Fuck my life.
