Chapter 29

Prom night. All the seniors had a half day to make finishing touches and to get ready. My family as well as Iris's were at AJ's house since hers is bigger and we got ready. Iris curled her hair and got her makeup done. AJ straightened her hair and had it in a low princess bun. I had my hair straightened and in a middle part. We all put the finishing touches on and it was around 6:00.... the guys should be coming soon. I start to pace in my dress and AJ already knew what was wrong. "You didn't tell your parents about Kai didn't you?" She says. I stop immediately and slowly look at her. "They know of Kai but... but not that we're dating...." I say. "Brandi.... you still have time, tell them now." Iris says. "I know I do but I don't know...." I say trailing off and looking anywhere BUT them. "Brandi." AJ says all serious, "tell them now." I sigh and start going to the living room. All the moms were sitting together watching a movie and gossiping about their own friend group.... I can see where we get it from. I slowly walk behind them and tap my mom on the shoulders. "Momma?" I say. "Hm? What is..." she says trailing off. Her mouth was open then Iris and AJ's mom turned and stared at me too. "B you look stunning!" My mom says getting teary eyed. "Thank you momma." I say consoling her. AJ and Iris both come and their moms start to cry a bit. "All our girls are all grown up!" AJ's mom said. Our moms hug us and we console them. "Momma." I say. "What is it B?" She says still holding onto me. "You know Kai, right?" I say. She nods and puts her head back on my shoulder. "Well, don't get mad but he's my date." I say. She doesn't take her head off my shoulder and just says okay. 10 minutes pass and the guys are here. We take hundreds of pictures and we get in this rented limo with all paid for. Then after a long car ride, we were here.
