Months pass and it's the trial and I'm not looking forward to it. The police gave AJ a deal, if she testified against Daniel and gave them as much evidence against him as possible, she'd only have community work to 4 months in jail tops. Before the trial I tried to run away, just thinking of seeing him made me want to throw up. When I got in the courtroom, I felt a sense of intimidation, I sigh and sit front row with AJ. After a bit, they brought Daniel in. When I saw him, I started to panic and breathe heavy. "Hey Hey Brandi!" AJ says reassuring me. "It's okay don't worry. I take a deep breaths to calm my nerves. "All rise." The judge says, "The court is now in session."
Timeskip 2 weeks
Two weeks have passed and Daniel was convicted guilty on two counts of attempted murder, one count of kidnapping, and one of aggravated assault. His sentencing was two days ago and he was sentenced to 20 years in jail. I didn't go to the sentencing but my mom gave the impact statement for me, reading it to the jury and to Daniel would've been too hard for me. When I got back to school, everything was different, everyone treated me differently..... especially the three juniors on the tennis team. "Brandi I want you to know that I'm here for you." Zoe says while we're changing to practice, the other two nod in agreement. "Look it's fine, I'm fine." I say. "Don't worry about me." They look at me and go back to changing. I let out a sigh and go outside.
