A couple days passed after that happened with Levi. You haven't spoken to him since then. You see him during trainings but he doesn't approach you or try to explain his behavior that day. It made you frustrated. But you did not want to be the one to make the first move. He's the one who kissed me. You silently huffed to yourself as you aggressively tightened a bandage on a cadet's arm. You heard a disgruntled moan from the cadet which pulled you back from your thoughts. You murmured an apology. "Sorry. Okay, we're done now. You know the drill. Don't get it wet, change the bandage frequently, and don't kill yourself." You instructed the cadet while cleaning up the used materials.
You pulled the curtains back from the treatment room and walked out. You saw several junior scout medics bustling around carrying boxes and crates of materials. Oh, shit. We're leaving tomorrow. You realized. You were so consumed with thoughts of what happened with Levi that day that you completely forgot that the mission to reclaim Wall Maria starts tomorrow.
I have to patch things up with Levi today. Things can't go on like this. You decided, throwing the dirty linen and bandages. "Ellie." You turned to a junior scout medic who was packing clean linens and bandages into a crate. "I'm going out for a while. I'll be back to check the inventory later." You told the young cadet who stopped what she was doing. "Yes, leader!" She replied to you as you walked out of the infirmary.
You paused for a moment after closing the infirmary doors as you realized you have no idea where Levi could be. Luckily for you, Erwin was walking down the hall. "Commander! Yo, Commander Erwin!" You called out to him, waving your arms to greet your friend. You walked up to him and started to walk beside him. "Have you seen Levi? Do you know where he is?" You asked giving a friendly grin.
Erwin inclined his head towards you and replied, "Last I heard, he was at the training grounds finalizing the teams for tomorrow's mission." You nodded. "Any idea which group I'm in?" You asked trying to match the pace of his steps. Erwin is a lot taller than you, with long legs and long strides. Your shorter petite limbs have to struggle to keep up.
Erwin snuck a glance at you. Rubbing a hand at the back of his neck trying to relieve some tension there. You heard him sigh. "Levi didn't tell you?" Erwin asked as the both of you exited the building and went outside. "Tell me what?" You asked confused. You can see the training grounds from a short distance away. And you immediately spot the person you were looking for. Erwin's question echoed in your head as realization suddenly hit you. Oh, hell no. Did he? "I'm on Levi's group, aren't I?" You deduced.
You didn't hear Erwin reply but you knew. Levi is the type of person to do just that. You sighed, accepting your fate. "Thanks, Erwin! I'm off." You said to your Commander as you walked up to the training grounds. "-those will be your groups. If any changes will be made, you'll be informed beforehand so watch out for instructions from your group leaders." You heard Levi say in that blunt tone of his. You waited for the people to scatter and leave before approaching him.
"Hey, Levi. Can we talk?" You gently asked, still a few steps away from the man. He stared at you for a few seconds before sighing. "Fine. Let's talk while walking." He said plainly and started to walk. You jogged a bit to catch up to him then walked to match his pace. "Where are we going?" You asked.
Levi glanced at you. "That's what you want to talk about?" He muttered sarcastically. You huffed. "No. But I want to know where you're taking me. After what happened before when you-" You stopped yourself realizing what you were just about to bring up. Shit. I'm doomed now. You wanted to smack yourself.
You sneakily glanced at the man walking beside you only to see he had a smug smirk on his lips. "When I what?" He asked. An arrogant tone in his voice. "I- that's not what I- we were-" You sputtered trying to cover up your mess. "Where are we going?!" You screamed out of frustration. Memories of that day running through your head.
You heard Levi give a low chuckle. You crossed your arms across your chest as the two of you entered the building once again. "Erwin's office." You finally hear him say. You grabbed the sleeve of his shirt to get him to stop. "He's probably not there. I was walking with him when I came to find you." You said.
You felt him flinch at your touch so you immediately dropped the hand that was holding his sleeve. You didn't notice the change in Levi's expression. "Its fine. I'll just drop this off at his office." Levi told you, waving the set of papers he was holding. He started to walk again and you follow suit. "So? What do you want to talk about?" He asked. Continuing where you left off.
"I heard that I'm on your team for this mission." You started. "I don't want things to be awkward between us so I'm suggesting a truce. I want to focus on my task and having you acting all temperamental and moody doesn't help me." You paused for a bit. "Respectfully." You added, not wanting to sound too harsh and igniting his temper.
"A truce only happens when there is a fight. We are not fighting." Levi replied. I feel like I'm in a fight with you lately, dumbass. You wanted to say but decided to keep it to yourself. "Yes, but, you're mad at me. About something. So I'm calling truce." You cautiously said. Taking a quick glance at Levi, trying to gauge his reaction.
"I'm mad." You heard him softly mutter. "But not at you." He continued. You didn't know what to say to that. So you continued walking beside him. The sound of footsteps the only thing you can hear. You finally arrived in front of Erwin's office. Levi had a hand on the doorknob when he turned to you. "Fine. Truce. Now, go away." He bluntly said opening the door and entering Erwin's office.
"You promise not to be awkward and grumpy?" You asked with Levi's back to you, placing the papers on Erwin's table. "Yeah, yeah." You heard him reply, waving you away without facing you. You gave a smile and turned away heading back to the infirmary.
Truce obtained. Now you can focus on the mission tomorrow without worrying when Levi will drag you to another room and kiss the soul out of you. He's an amazing kisser though. You thought to yourself. Lightly placing your fingertips on your lips. Recalling the feel of Levi's soft lips on yours. You shook your head and continued walking down the hall. You have to prepare for tomorrows mission not knowing the things you have to face ahead.
