You were humming a tune under your breath while strapping on your ODM gear. You heard a loud growl from far away realizing that the field scouts encountered titans. You sighed. "Let's do this." You whispered under your breath while putting your hair up in a bun.
You scanned the area inside the treatment tent. Everything is ready and organized. Ellie and Maz are both sitting by near the entrance of the tent and you feel your apprentices tension all the way across the room. You approached them, patting the two on the head. "What's wrong? Nervous?" You teased them.
Ellie turned to you and replied meekly. "Yes. We always are. Every time we go on missions." You weakly smiled, tying the tent curtains open to leave the entrance clear for the injured. "Yeah. That never really goes away, does it?" You said. Mostly to yourself. You've been out to many missions. Been in danger dozens of times. You almost lost your life just several months ago. But the fear of losing your life to the very thing you've been fighting with just makes you shiver with dread.
A loud bang resonated outside. You ran out seeing several people coming from the other side of the wall wounded. You yell for the other two to start treating the more severe ones while you approached them to help them get to the tent. You approached a severely bleeding cadet who was limping his way to the tent.
"What happened?" You asked. Bringing one of his arms around your shoulders and helping him inside the tent to lay on a clear cot. You ripped off his sleeve revealing a large gash on his arm. You checked him for other injuries and found a dislocated shoulder, a lacerated head wound, and a broken ankle. You stabilized his shoulder in a sling and his ankle in a splint. You thoroughly cleaned his wounds. Wrapped them up in bandages and stitched the larger ones closed.
From what the cadet told you, the number of titans inside Wall Maria was far less than they expected. But unfortunately they are clustered closer to where Eren said the basement is located. The scouts are handling it pretty well despite having some soldiers injured. You made sure no other injuries or wounds were overlooked before moving on to the next patient.
You worked like this the entire time, patching everyone up that comes through the tent. Those who can still fight insisted on going back, and you have no authority to stop them. They only listen to that guy. You muttered inside your head. They'll go fight and come back wounded giving you more jobs to do. You petulantly frowned.
You thought becoming a scout would get you fighting on the field. Killing titans. Risking your life. But with Levi around, handling your missions for you, you barely get to see titans, much less kill them. You've only been assigned to patrolling grounds that are empty of titans. And just several months ago, after recuperating from your injuries during the Shiganshina attack, you woke up to find Levi had you moved to the Scout Medic Group.
You remembered the deal between you and Levi. If you win this, you can go back to being a field scout, without Levi hindering you on missions. You could finally do the job you trained for. It got your blood pumping. It made you feel alive. You smirked. "Leader, you look creepy smiling at my broken fingers." The cadet you were treating winced as you assesses the extent of his injury.
"Oh, sorry." You replied, feeling excited for the future missions you can go to. However, your smile immediately dropped when the entire top of the tent came off from huge boulder hitting it. You looked up at the clear blue sky to see a rain of boulder rocks coming from above you.
Fuck. "EVERYONE, TAKE COVER! NOW!" You screamed. Ah, and I thought my end of the deal would be easy. You glumly thought as a huge rock came speeding right at you.
- INSIDE WALL MARIA-
It's too damn quiet. Levi noticed standing on top of the wall overlooking the village. There are several titans but mostly normal ones. No abnormal titans on sight nearby. Where the heck are those parasites? Levi wondered, jumping off from the wall. A flare gun shot off near the area where Eren said the basement would be. Levi flew to the location.
Groups of titans were loitering everywhere near the area. Almost as if they're preventing people from getting close. Levi started taking them one by one, the other soldiers doing their part as well. Levi kept an eye on the Eren brat as well. Erwin would have his head if something happened to the titan shifter.
Levi landed on the roof scouting the surrounding areas. Only several titans were left. But it felt too suspicious. Where the fuck are those titans?! Levi frustratedly thought. A cadet landed beside him, shivering from head to toe. "C-captain! What-what is that?!" The young cadet stuttered pointing on top of Wall Maria.
A beast-like monster was crouching on top of the wall juggling several boulders on one hand. Levi glared, gritting his teeth. He watched as the monster stood up, closing his fist on the boulders, and leant back. Levi's eyes widened. "No." Levi whispered. "Erwin! An abnormal!" He yelled to Erwin who was also staring at the creature.
"TAKE COVER!" Erwin yelled. Shooting off on his gear. Levi followed. "Please." He whispered desperately. "Please, stay safe, (y/n)." Levi said as boulders flew by his head, landing over Wall Rose where the safe base is located. Where the treatment area is. Where Levi left you to keep you safe.
"FUCK!" Levi gritted as he shot off towards the wall. Please. Please. Please.... The words kept repeating in his head. Begging, hoping, that you remained unscathed. He glanced back to the best like creature who was once again juggling boulders in his hand. Taking his time.
Levi clenched his jaw, speeding up to where you are as the creature got ready to throw rocks once more. "Y/N!!!" Levi yelled. His voice echoing. Hoping it could reach you over the wall that separates you two.
A/N: A rocky place. Geddit? Lmfao.
