You woke up from your sleep feeling sore. The wounds from the mission and your intimate activity last night with Levi left you feeling raw and weak. You lightly coughed, throat parched from the sounds you made last night. You saw a glass of water placed on your nightstand and moved to grab it but was unable to. An arm was wrapped around your waist, binding you to the person it was attached to.
You turned your head to see Levi lying beside you, his hair carelessly strewn across his forehead. You turned your body to face him. He was still sleeping, his lips partly open. Reaching out a hand, you moved the hair covering his forehead away from his face.
You studied him. Like a book you always had but never read. You always heard people describing Levi as dashing. And you knew a lot of people admired him, romantically and professionally. But you never had a chance to consider him that way. He was your savior, then your captain, then a colleague, and now a close friend. And despite the constant bickering between you two, you know he cares for you and you care for him.
You always thought it was because you owe your new life to him. And he acted the way he did to you because he felt responsible for bringing you into this dangerous profession of being a Scout. You didn't stop to consider that maybe those feelings of gratefulness were developing into something more. Every time a seed of doubt was planted, you bury it deep down, making sure light never reaches it. You didn't want to harbor feelings of desire for the person who saved your life.
But the seeds of affection accumulated within you and the moment you accepted its presence, it overwhelmed you. You chuckled remembering what happened last night. You laid a warm palm against Levi's cheek, softly caressing his skin. The two of you skipped a lot of steps without clarifying things between the two of you. Are you both falling in love? Or was it just falling into bed with each other?
You gave a weak smile. Knowing you'll have to talk to Levi properly later. You were lifting his arm from your waist when you suddenly felt his muscle tense under you fingers as Levi pulled you back into his chest.
"Where are you going?" He groggily murmured against your hair, his voice husky from sleep. You had your face planted on his bare chest, you blinked. You vaguely remember falling asleep naked as Levi wiped you clean with a towel. But you woke up wearing Levi's shirt. You rolled your eyes figuring out that Levi dressed you up. Of course he chose to dress me with his own shirt rather than my nightgown. You thought, smirking.
You patted Levi's chest to get him to loosen his hold on you. "I have to get some water and food. I'm starving." You replied, wriggling out of his grasp. Levi grunted, burying his nose further into your hair. "Later. Sleep some more." He told you sluggishly. You laughed.
You pinched his arm lightly, finally managing to get out of his arms. You sat on the side of the bed, your feet planted on the floor as you straightened out your hair. You winced feeling the pain from the wound on your shoulder. I have to get that restitched properly. You made a mental note. You told Seth to hastily patch it up yesterday but your were too exhausted to make a short visit to the infirmary to get it treated properly yesterday. You decided to get it checked later when you visit Erwin at the hospital instead.
You were about to stand up when Levi grabbed your waist once again pulling you onto his lap. He hugged you from behind giving you a soft kiss on the cheek as he rested his chin on your shoulder. "You look pretty wearing my clothes." He commented yawning. "Thank you." You replied giggling. "Now let me go. I want to take a bath then get some breakfast." You told him again.
He tilted his head sideways giving you small kisses on the jaw. "Can I join?" He asked. You laughed out loud. Crawling out of his embrace and getting off the bed before Levi could latch onto you again. You walked towards the dresser picking comfortable clothes to wear for your hospital visit later and grabbed a nearby dry towel.
You turned to Levi smiling. "Join me for bath? No. You have your own room, take a bath there." You told him pointing towards the door. "You can join me for breakfast and to visit Erwin at the hospital later if you want to." You continued making your way to the bathroom. You stopped near the bed and let impulse take over for a moment. You leaned towards Levi who was sitting up on the bed with his eyes closed and hair tousled from turning in his sleep. You smirked and gave him a big fat kiss on the cheek.
Levi's eyes snapped open as you ran to the bathroom and locked the doors behind you. You heard Levi shuffling to get out of bed and approach the bathroom door. "Y/N." He groaned. Knocking at the door. "You can't do that and leave me out here." He complained against the door. You laughed at his obvious pain.
"Go and take a bath. I'll see you in a bit." You replied taking off Levi's shirt from your body. Smiling softly at the scent of the man lingering on the cloth. You hear Levi sigh outside. "Fine." He said sulkily. "See you later." He replied. You hear his footsteps moving around your room, probably picking up his discarded clothing from last night. You blushed.
You hear the door open and close behind him as Levi left. You proceeded to take your bath. Basking in the warmth of the water hitting your skin and loosening your tense muscles. You felt relieved that Levi was not acting awkward despite what happened between the two of you. Then again, you're quite enjoying this version of Levi. You warmly smiled, looking forward to the future you never even considered.
