The Missing piece

CHAPTER 26: When the water return to its stream

They decided to go back to 'The City of sorrows' and stay there for a while until they figure out the next step. After almost two days they reached it, and they got in straight to Deidria's house, with heavy hearts and bad news. When they told her about Adam she couldn't believe her ears. Deidra fell down on her knees and started crying, Anna couldn't hold her tears anymore and they kept on crying both for a minute. Everyone was feeling bad for what happened to their friend, but they also acknowledge the fact that it's destiny and they have to trust the process of life. While the guys were helping Deidria get on her feet and get her into the house to rest a bit, Anna went away from them to a quiet place. In order, to settle down the storm in her heart, but also to figure out the confusion in her mind. After one second of getting herself together, she started getting flashbacks of her mother, and the beautiful moment they spent together, from sewing together, playing chess and her mother beating her several times, to the day Anna lost her light in the world, she also remembered her memories with Adam from bumping into him to the first day to their dilemma in the swamp of lies, and him sacrificing himself to save her life. The last memory sat her tears free for the last time and she let them float on her beautiful cheeks, she was crying calmly and just letting herself acknowledge everything she was feeling, the good and the bad. While she was making peace with her past, Evander approached her, and started talking:

· I know that Adam and I, weren't that close, but you know we have been through a lot together, and you guys are all I have. We definitely lost a great person and an amazing friend.

Evander kept silent for a moment, but then he couldn't hold back his feelings anymore:

· This may not be the right time to say this, and probably you don't feel the same but I am going to say it anyway: Anna, you're the best thing that has ever happened to me, from the moment I saw you, my heart dropped, and obviously I am not used to the whole feelings thing, so excuse me if....

Before he finished his sentence she put a gentle kiss on his cheeks. One kiss that completely melted the ice walls he built around his heart all these years. He looked at her completely consumed in her love and dazzled by her breathtaking eyes. Anna's cheeks started getting red; her blushing was pink perfection; it was the hallmark of one who is true of heart. She looked away escaping his enticing gaze. "Anna," Evander said suddenly, she looked at him. He was sweating, it was obvious, but he didn't care; this was his moment of bravado. He had nothing prepared and definitely not a ring with him, and rapidly changed his position from standing to kneeling on the floor, with his heart in his hands. Anna's eyes widened and her mouth gaped as Evander sputtered,

· I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?

Anna had her hand cupped over her mouth to try and hide her shock, but Evander could see from her eyes that she was smiling. Slowly, her head bobbed up and down in a nod, and she kneeled down and kissed her now-fiancé, while he kissed her back passionately.

Anna and Evander decided to keep the news to themselves, while others were still grieving Adam's death. After a few weeks when they were eating breakfast, they decided to break down the news to them, Anna stood up and said:

· I have some good news to share with you guys.

· We are getting married. (She and Evander said at the same time while holding hands)

· I am really happy for you, kids. That's amazing. Ulysses said.

· YES, WE ARE GETTING MARRIED. Shadow said.

He was getting up so fast from his chair, he almost flipped the table over, he hugged them both at the same time while whispering in Evander's ear '' you better take care of her''.

· I already knew there was something going on between these lovebirds, my happiness is over the clouds, to hear that you kids finally decided that. Now let's get to work. Deidra said

· What works? Anna asked.

· Weeding preparation of course. Owh this is going to be the wedding of the year. Deidra was so excited about the planning and the wedding, that she couldn't hide her excitement.

· Well since you mention it, I think we should invite everyone. And I mean EVERYONE. Anna said

· But how could we make that happen, this is going to take so much time. Shadow said.

· I have an idea. Aurora said. If you would like sir you can give me back my power with a little change!

· Yes of course. I would like to help you kids. Ulysses said.

Ulysses started talking in a strange language and he said some weird words, they were waiting for some change or books falling down from the shell but nothing happened.

· What happened? Aurora asked.

· Trust the process kid. Go outside and just think about what you want to be. Trust me. Ulysses said.

Aurora did as the man said, and they followed her to the outside to see what was going to happen. Suddenly Aurora shifted to a glorious bird, much more beautiful than the previous version. She kept checking her magnificent wings for a moment and then in one second she went back to her human state. For a moment their jaws almost dropped. Aurora approached them and said:

· With a little magic, we can make that big wedding happen. Now I will go to ''the forest of mystery'' to invite Othemia.

She did the same with Dylan and Leander. Meanwhile, Ulysses, Shadow, and Evander were preparing the place for the wedding. A huge tent that would probably fit hundreds of people, they placed the chairs and the Grableimens helped with the flowers, which they were everywhere, it looked like heaven, a magical place to get married.

The wedding dress was made by Deidra and the talented dressmakers of the town, it was so simple yet astonishing, and that is to say, it had a high waist that showed the stunning shape of the bride, with blue fine chiffon decorated with beautiful puff sleeves, and a cut in the up middle of the dress. It was the perfect dress for Anna, simple, lovely and brave.

The big day has come, Anna was walking slowly through the weeding hall with that gorgeous dress Deidria made for her, with a crown of flowers Othemia gave her to make her feel like her mom was there, and since her father was not there to walk her to her future husband she walked alone but with head up, feeling so proud of everything she was been through alone. Shadow was crying so badly happy for his friend that she was always with him since the beginning of his life. She walked looking at everyone who helped her to reach that exact moment. Leander gave her the map, Dylan who helped Evander cross the walls so they could meet in a strange event while he was helping Keelan to murder the king, Othemia who helped her to find her true self and realize what she was exactly capable of, suddenly she saw the boy who helped them cross the swamp of lies and basically saved her life, there were all there, her new family, at the end of the hall there was Evander waiting for his beautiful bride, tears dropped out from his eyes, it was the best moment in his whole life besides finding his father.

After all, it was just because of the curiosity that leads her to that moment, the place that she was always looking for; between people who loves her, appreciate her, and respect her but mostly thank her for helping them to get back their memories, especially Dylan who finally could remember the face of his wife and Leander who remembered his awful and ferocious past so he decided to never hurt someone and be a nice guy like he thought.

Ulysses learned a priceless lesson that cost him his love and his son; no matter how bad our past was, it is not what rules our future, we make the decisions that we are meant to take. It's all about how we want our life to be not how it was.
