The Missing piece

Chapter 3: Meaningful changes

The morning, Adam and Shadow woke up on a delicious smell, they got up so fast to find out from where it came from, and they found Anna making the breakfast. Shadow already knew how delicious it is, but once Adam tasted it, he was amazed by its taste, it was indescribable, a taste that gives the sensation of walking on the clouds, it seemed to him like he never has eaten something that scrumptious in his life. They both started complimenting her work, and how amazing was what she made, she was really happy because they liked her food, and what made her happier was that Adam suggests her to work with him in the bakery since she was an amazing cooker. She accepted his offer with the most beautiful smile ever.

· I think this city has a good effect on you, I see that you have been laughing and smiling all the time. Adam said.

· Yeah you're right that's exactly what was missing in my life somewhere like this where I can get my happiness and joyful days back, after all the bad things that happened lately. She answered him, while her smile was fading away.

· I can't wait till I hear your story Miss Anna It seems an interesting one.

· It will be a pleasure, and I also want to hear yours.

· Yeah, sure!

They exchanged smiles and some hiding feelings. When they got up to go, shadow stopped them and asked sore headed when they forgot about him:

· And what am I supposed to do here all alone?

· If you want to, you can come with us, and maybe help us with some stuff. Adam suggested.

· Yes of course! That will be awesome. Shadow said with excitement while he was jumping in his place.

Everyone was happy with the changes that happened in their lives, Anna found a place where she can be herself and felt that she belongs to this strange world, and Shadow has been turned to a human and he could finally experience a new life, like he always wanted, for Adam, he got new friends, someone who could fill the gap of loneliness in his life, people that will break his routine which he started hating.

The friends went to the bakery and everyone starts doing the work that Adam has signed for them. Shadow was bringing the water and all the materials they need, Anna and Adam were cooking bread, cakes... and all the stuff clients were demanding. It was such a beautiful morning that day. The kind of vibes they all needed.

Everyone was happy with what they were doing, and in the middle of this joyful moment, Adam heard Anna screaming while he went outside for a moment to talk with a client, he went running to her to find out what happened, he saw her on the floor holding her hand while the oven was on fire he grabbed a bucket full of water and throw it to restrain the flames when he approached her, he found that she burned her hand, he took her gentle burned hand to see the damages, at that moment, in a peculiar accident Anna saw everything happened to him, the death of his parents in some war and all that damages and sadness this city has been throw, she pulled her hand from his so quickly to stop the flow of events that were in her head, Adam was surprised from her reaction so he said:

· I'm Sorry! I didn't know what to do but we need to figure out how we can cure this! And he starts looking for something to help her.

· I know what happened! I'm so sorry about your parents' death and all the things that happened to you!

He turned to her so surprised by what she just said, he couldn't believe what he just heard, and he didn't even know what happened to his parents or what she was talking about since no one ever mentioned that subject so he never talked with someone about it, especially someone he just met.
