Chapter 19: Mauritius

Mauritius was living in the land of the lost. He had very dark skin and obvious high, everyone used to make fun of how tall he was, Mauritius Lived in chaos not only the one the city was drowning in but the chaos that was going on in his mind. He did not know what to do with his life, drowning in addiction the only thing he inherited from his parents who used to be very horrible and toxic people, after their death he felt free for the first time in his life but suddenly he realized his life was falling apart and the addiction is stealing his precious days of youth. Mauritius had one special thing; he had the gift of seeing the future unfortunately not his. He accidentally met Hecate, he saw her future and it fascinated him, he knew there was absolutely nothing that could stop her so he decided to stay by her side and eventually she wined her trust and become her assistant so he knew everything that happened to her in the land of the lost but once it comes to his senses, that he was working for an evil person like her isn't the right thing, he decided to escape without telling Hecate anything because he knew she was not the kind of people who will sympathize with his mental health. he escaped from that land and found a way to cross the river when he reached the village of farmers he was surprised too by the people he found there but the surprising thing was the way they treated him. The Grableimens helped him to get rid of his addiction, learn their language, and when he showed signs of leadership and they noticed behind all that chaos and addiction there was a wise and kind person so they decide to make him as a leader. Mauritius found the opportunity or it should be said he created his own opportunity since he decided to give up on the life he used to live and started over even if that means to go back to square one he wanted to be a better person and he definitely didn't let It slip away. Although he was so different from them, they didn't reject him or chase him away from their village instead they accepted him between their people and treated him like one of them, they even sat him as their leader because of his personality, good qualification but mostly because of his pure heart and kindness, so Mauritius become one of the Grableimens thanks to the people who have the purest souls.

Once Anna and the others heard Mauritius's story they knew that there's good as there's evil in this life and all the doubts they had about the Grableimens just faded away, they can't be monsters not even close, the real monsters are those who gave up on their humanity and let greed and ego control them, the ones who want to be superior and better than everyone while they forgot we're all the same in hearts, not shape. The physical appearance doesn't give the privilege of being human; instead treating everyone the same and being kind no matter how much others can be bad, is definitely the right thing to do because after all kindness always wins.

Mauritius told them his story and something else they had no idea about Anna's powers, it turns out that she cannot only see someone's past with touch but also with an item very close to that person without them being around. They wanted to know about Hecate and why she was doing all that so they thought maybe Anna's powers will help but unfortunately couldn't keep anything that belongs to her. Mauritius said:

· Well, guys! I'm really sorry but I can't help you with that but I know something that can help you. That river you crossed was actually in the center of Hisia, it used to separate the villages but now apparently it's separating the cities, so the other thing you should know about it is that there's a legend that says all the memories of Hisia are in the bottom of the river. The only complexity about that is no one could ever pass the mermaids or could hold their breath that long.

The friends looked at each other with a look that says a lot and Anna pulled the necklace to show it to him, once Mauritius saw it he knew what they were thinking about, the necklace was their entry card but they still don't know how to keep their breath under the water, then Mauritius suggested:

· As you can see guys we're farmers and the Grableimens know everything about plants and I'm sure they can come up with something to help you.

Indeed that's what happened the Grableimens know the liquid that will help them breathe underwater but it required days to be prepared which exactly what they needed, time to rest and since the girls are injured they decided to stay there until they done with preparing the liquid. While they were there they learned a lot about the Grableimens, they seemed so organized and disciplined, each one had a task to accomplish, and they were working with devotion and love. The thing that fascinated them was the amount of respect and kindness they treat each other; Anna and Aurora created a lot of friendships the guys had a bit of conservation but they helped the others in their chores and end up getting along with them. The item they were waiting for wasn't ready yet so they decided to go and check on Deidria since the village was close to the city of sadness. Aurora couldn't go with them because she was not feeling well especially after her injury and Shadow stayed with her so she won't feel alone in that strange place but mostly because he wanted to spend more time with her, and since the opportunity was in front of his nose he couldn't blow it away. Adam and Evander couldn't leave Anna to go alone with that injured leg, she insisted on going to see her friend and nothing could stop her, thanks to the Grableimens's skills they helped her to decrease the pain of her leg so she was ready to walk again. While the liquid was in the making the friends headed to the city of sadness leaving Shadow and Aurora in the village of framers enjoying companionship with each other and Anna knew the intentions of Shadow so she let him enjoy those moments with the girl he starts falling for.
