Evander was walking back and forth in his room thinking and trying to guess what the curse was; waiting for the right time to sneak out of the house, to meet Dylan. Evander wanted so badly to know the truth, all of it. He waited till his parents fell asleep and he went out of his window, once his feet hit the ground, he started running to that place, where he could meet Dylan; he knew exactly where it was. Evander was like the rat of the city, he knew every corner and all the places. They met in an old library so close to the walls of the city, he didn't have any time for greeting or sweet talk, and he asked Dylan with obvious excitement:

· Please tell me what happened what Ulysses did?

Dylan shouted at his face like the previous time once he heard the name of Ulysses:

· I told you don't mention his name.

· I'm really sorry I forget ,now please tell me , I want to know everything .

· Easy boy! it's a long story you probably know half of it from the book, the man was my friend we were partners in some researches, we used to work on developing the chemical products, he was one of the most brilliant and genius people I've ever knew but intelligence can be sometimes a curse if we don't know how to control it. Everything was alright and going very well until that day when his passion went so far and he created the weapon that almost killed all of us , of course he didn't do it on purpose even that he was so smart but we can't deny that the person can be dumb sometimes , I think you know the rest from the book and for the curse I'm sorry kid but I can't remember what it is no one can I tried to ask all my old friends but none of them knows...... but..... I have information that can help in your research, before I tell you anything; I just need to know why you're doing this? Why is it so important to know the truth?

· Mr. Dylan my whole life was planned, I didn't choose to study what I'm studying OK? I didn't choose my clothes, the things I want to eat, even my friends that I barely have, my parents took over my life they don't care about me, all they want is to have a good reputation and I was just like one of their properties, I want for once to take a decision in my life, I want a change and there's nothing better than finding the truth and maybe something else...who knows, I just need some excitement in my life. Mr. Dylan that feeling I have when I talk about "The men" I want to feel it all the time.

· Ok kid I'll tell you what you need to know. Those old friends I asked don't remember a thing about the past which I find a bit strange although there was one of them who told me that there is an old women, she can probably help you with something. I think you should go to her.

· Ok! Then tell me where I can find her?

· There were some rumors I'm not sure if they are quite right but you got to take any chance boy if you want some answers.

· I understand that sir! Just tell me.

· They say she lives far away from here in some forest where no one ever been to, or at least the stupid brave ones who has been there never come back!

Dylan's words didn't scare Evander; he was willing to do whatever it takes to know the truth besides he wasn't even planning to come back so he had nothing to hold him back. Dylan continued:

· But you have to know that the road to that place requires a lot of courage and patience it's a dangerous road and there will be a lot of people chasing you, the bottom of line your life won't be the same anymore, the real question is are you ready for that?

· Trust me Sir I hate my current life, how bad can this new life could be?

· Ok little hero we'll see about that. Go to your home now, have some rest and bring all you need for your trip don't forget the money, you'll need it, meet me in the same place after tomorrow, I need to take care of some stuff, deal?

· Deal, but sir I have one last question, why you're helping me? There's no profit for you from all that.

· There is.... Kind of.

· What is it then? Evander asked.

· I don't know kid! But deep inside me I know there's something missing, and I want it back, I tried everything but nothing happened. Before the.... Dylan stopped talking like the words on the edge of his tongue but he couldn't spell them, he ignored that and kept talking....and the tragedy you know who caused, I had the most beautiful wife ever but I lost her after that, and I can't even remember her face so I guess if you stopped the curse, that can maybe change something, and give me the chance to remember her or find her if she still alive. Dylan said while the tears almost dropped from his eyes but he kept them there and tried to stay strong in front of that kid.

· I promise you Dylan you'll get her back.

Dylan looked at him with a bit of affection and concern, because he had seen someone exactly like him but still, there's no way they were that close, Dylan could see something in Evander but he didn't knew what it was, something familiar, although he chased that idea from his mind.

Evander went back home and start packing his clothes and books quietly so his parents won't suspicious anything.

He went to sleep knowing that his life was about to change, and probably everything, he loved that feeling .That was the thing he wanted for a long time ago, the push he needed was finding that book, which awakened his sense of adventure and curiosity. The next day, after school, he grabbed all his clothes and some books so he won't feel alone all along the road, he hadn't that beautiful parents-son relationship, so he was ignoring them all day long, at midnight he just walked away without even looking at them probably for the last time. he went to Dylan's house before the date they agreed on, Dylan was a bit angry from Evander's surprise but once he heard the boy's story, he felt sorry for him and how his parents treated him .The next day Evander woke up kind of late, but ready for the adventure, he noticed that there was no news about a missing boy or something unusual, his parents didn't even know he was gone, at that exact moment he knew that there was nothing left for him in that city, the adventure must begin. He took his bag with a map, Dylan had given him and the book about Ulysses, and he went looking for the truth, He didn't know how to pass the guards of the city, because if he tried to get out they'll kill him. Dylan helped him with that, showing him a secret tunnel that leads to the other side of the walls. The tunnel was so dark and creepy, Dylan said:

· Boy! you should go throw here to the other side ,there you'll find a man ,friend of mine ,he will help you ,and remember don't be what this city wants you to be ,you're different own it ,and be yourself this mission will show you who you truly are, just have faith and never lose hope.

· Thank you sir, for everything I really appreciate it. I'll keep that in mind, and I promise that I'll help you to get back your wife.

Evander walked into the scary tunnel with many doubts and questions in his mind, on the other side he met the man as Dylan told him and he start his quest to find the forgotten truth.
