It had been a couple of weeks since the party and engagement.
Everyone was so happy and excited for the couple.

Shayla however was dealing with a situation.

She'd dreamt about Niall. It was nothing to sordid but they kissed in the dream and it was confusing her.

Why was she dreaming of kissing one of her best friends? Her best friend that also just so happened to be newly engaged to her other best friend.

She tried to forget about it but wherever she went they were playing Heather's new songs. The guilt of not saying anything was eating her alive.

She was making her way into her local coffee shop, to grab a drink before work. Once again they were playing one of Heather's songs. She smiled but also couldn't help that bubble of guilt rise up again.

"Morning Shay. The usual?" Lexi called.

"Yes please! How're you today?" Shayla was swaying to the music but ignoring the feelings inside her.

"Not bad. Sun is shining so that makes a difference. This is one of Heather's right? So catchy! Hey, you okay?" Lexi acknowledged the song but soon noticed the pained look on Shayla's face.

"Yeah it is. No no I'm fine. Just didn't sleep much."

Lexi was finishing up Shayla's drink as she spoke.

"God I hate that. Makes the day so crappy. Heather's doing really well for herself though. New album, new career... new husband!"

Shayla was confused. She hadn't told anyone about the engagement other than those who needed to know. How did Lexi know?

Lexi sensed Shayla was confused by the look on her face. She'd originally been joking but could tell by Shayla's face that there was some truth behind it. As she handed the drink over she spoke again.

"Didn't you see it was all over Twitter? They spotted Heather wearing Niall's ring, on her ring finger. Most people thought it was a cute gesture. But some people joked they were engaged. So it stuck. And by the look on your face it's actually true." Lexi was getting excited, she had the biggest smile on her face.

She'd never met Heather, Niall or even Harry but she knew quite a lot about them. Shayla was in the shop quite often so made a lot of small talk.

"Shit. I'll have to ask them about that. You can't tell anyone though Lexi. I trust you." Shayla was nervous. Although the world would know in time, she wanted Niall and Heather to do that on their own terms not because of some internet rumour.

Lexi promised she wouldn't say a word but asked her to give them a congratulations from her. Shayla paid for her drink and thanked her before heading off to work.

Shayla had no shoots today so she was just filling out paperwork and ordering in new backdrops for the studio. She was alone as no one was needed today. Days like these were boring and the day went so slow because of it.

Her phone buzzed next to her laptop. It was the group chat.

Niall: Hey all! So me and Heather were talking and we haven't had a celebration yet with just the four of us. So, if you're both free we should have dinner tonight around 7:30? I'm cooking! Not Spag Bol though because we all know how that turned out😂 x

Shayla had let the thought of her dream go to the back of her mind. Being distracted by work but soon remembered when she looked at the text.

Being the busy bodies that they are they hadn't really seen each other since the engagement so it would be nice to have dinner. However, she couldn't just go round and pretend it hadn't happened.
