Shayla was confused by Harry's text. His studio time was something she never really thought to get involved in.
That was something that was just his.

Plus she'd said, when they first became friends, that she wanted to hear new music when it gets released. Niall and Heather got the same declaration.

Shayla liked the hype behind music releases. You don't get many surprises in life and she wanted this to be one of them.

So when he'd asked her to come in it was a shock. She didn't want to intrude or step on anyone's toes, but as soon as he said he needed her, she knew. He rarely ever texted those things unless he was in his head. Overthinking and and getting himself stressed.

Shayla grabbed her shoes, quickly tying the laces and then grabbing her jacket, keys and purse. She'd offered to grab food for everyone as she'd have to walk through town to get to the studio.

Once she checked over her appearance in the hall mirror she made her way to open the front door.

She was greeted by Heather. Her face was stained with tears and she looked as if she'd been crying for a while.

"Heather what are you... wait what's happened?!" Shayla held onto Heather's forearms as she studied her face.

"It's... it's... Niall. We... we uh... oh I don't know..." Heather started to sob.

Shayla pulled her inside and walked her into the living room. She pulled both their bodies on the couch to sit down.

"Just breathe. You're okay." Shayla wrapped her arm around Heather's body. Trying to comfort and calm her down. She hated seeing her like this. Clearly something big had happened.

Heather sobbed for a couple more minutes, Shayla just held her close until she calmed slightly.

"Niall and me... I think... I think it's over Shay. The wedding, the song... everything." Heather sniffed in between words.

Shayla reached over and grabbed a tissue and offered it to her. She was trying to process what had just been said.

"Wait. What?!"

"We had this big fight. I think we've just been so caught up in the planning we've forgotten to talk to each other. Like really talk. We said some really horrible things to each other Shay. It all got out of hand and he stormed out." Heather was crying again. Wiping at her eyes and nose with the tissue.

Shayla was almost in tears herself but needed to be strong for Heather. This could not be happening. They are meant to be.

Shayla's phone buzzed in her pocket.

Shit. Harry! She'd completely forgotten that she was meant to be in the studio with him right now. This was a dilemma. She needed to be here for Heather but Harry needed her too.

"Are you gonna get that?" Heather sniffled.

"It's Harry. Was supposed to meet him in the studio but you're more important right now." Shay ignored the call as the buzzing stopped. Heather glanced up from where she'd been staring at the carpet. Not daring to look at her friend in fears she'd start sobbing again.

"Please call him back. I'm not asking you to ignore him completely. I'm gonna be selfish though and say can you stay with me? Just this once but answer him. Don't let me wreck your relationship too!" she cried out. The tears still falling heavily again.

Shayla felt so guilty leaving her but needed to update Harry. Her phone buzzed a couple more times since the call. She'd gotten a couple texts and another missed call.
