22: Jellal

Side by side the two walked down the lonely halls. The air got colder the closer they went to the room Jellal is in. Y/n could smell it. While it has been years since she had seen him, she can never forget his scent.

Y/n raised her hand and flicked her fingers before the double doors that came into view. The lock clicked and the doors opened, creaking on its way.

A lacrima was the first thing she saw. It sat in the center of the room, and on its far right, is the person the two came looking for.

Jellal hummed, moving the two pieces that resemble the two. A knight with a red feather, and a dragon with half of its body gone.

"My, my," He cooed, standing up from his throne,  "Game over already?" Erza clenched the katana tightly in her hands and sent a side glance to Y/n.

"Is it so amusing?" Erza asked,  "Toying with people's lives?" She kept an authority voice as she spoke, making sure her voice was loud and clear for the man.

"I mean, I get it, seeing people run around is kinda fun-" Y/n's words cut short when she received a small jab to her side.

"Life and death, after all, are the origins and focus of all emotions. In other words, nothing is more boring than living," He said, walking to the other side of the room.

"It was sure nice to see you, Y/n, Erza,"

"Jellal," Erza muttered.

"Good to see you again too," Y/n said,  "You've grown awfully tall, give me some of those genes,"

Jella chuckled at the two, "Nice to see you've grown too, you're not the girl unconscious anymore,"

"At first it was nice, but now I realize I just want to sleep forever and never worry about getting up,"

She raised her hand and placed it on Erza's shoulders.

"Erza and I will save our friends- if you don't mind,"

"I don't, the Paradise Tower is already complete," Erza glanced around the large room.

"It still looks like it needs some redesigning,"

"Hate to agree, but yeah, I mean, at first, the ancient people on the walls looked kinda cool but now it's just overused. Sorry, but your taste is just awful-" Her chuckles nearly turn into laughter when she glanced down at the walls. A mixture of ancients and clubs.

"I'm sorry but it looks fucking-" She choked back a wheeze, "-awful,"

Jellal quickly looked at the redhead who watches the woman nearly break down before the two, either due to stress or she genuinely finds the situation where they are 10 minutes away from dying funny.

"Look at all these yee-yee ass designs-"

"Would you really call it complete even when it's about to be destroyed in 10 minutes?" Erza cut in.

"Oh? You mean Aetherion?" He was just glad Erza was mentioning something else at this point.

Y/n was too busy on the floor, laughing at the designs carved on the wall where she was caged in.
