13: Arrived & Assistence

The entire ordeal that came with the mission made the yellow feline groan in pain. It was too much to consume all in one day, especially with the headache she got moments before. After the crash, they all fortunately survived due to her bubbles, and went to the town around the center of the island. Once they were there, they met the rest of the villagers, who explained their heartbreaking story and past to them. Apparently, ever since this eerie pink light from the moon shined down on them, they were affected by a curse that contorted limbs from their bodies to one's fitting of a demon.

The situation itself was awful, and it made E/n feel pathetic for wanting to leave. Just before that, she was telling the group how irresponsible they were, and how they were breaking several rules for a stupid mission. And she bit back on those words after the explanation, But, this is an S-Class mission. They still had no right to take it, even if it was for their safety. In reality, this can still get them in trouble. It was much better for an experienced person to take a job and complete it, rather than an inexperienced group taking the job and possibly lose their lives to it.

What added to the situation and poor living conditions of the villagers, were Lyon and his goons. At first, E/n had assumed that these men were just part of a dark guild. She had thought that it would've been a simple group for them to take down and save the villagers from. Especially since they were supposedly the cause of the villagers' twisted and deformed features. Alas, things were more complicated than that.

Something about him made Gray angry and more determined to complete this mission and win against Lyon. They journeyed to the temple where he was, and Gray found him 1v1. At first, chances of winning seem slim, especially since Lyon was also an ice wizard, but E/n has confidence in him winning. But, in her shock, Lyon performed a spell with one hand instead of two, and created entities that can move all on their own. With this, Lyon bested Gray, and trapped Natsu ( who came along at the time ) in an ice shell. Luckily, by getting him far enough, the spell was broken and Natsu was free.

Aside from this, the reason for Lyon being present on the island was to gather the moon rays. According to him, the rays can be used to melt the ice cap that has trapped Deliora, a demon of Zeref, in a slumber state. E/n thought it was stupid that that wanted to revive a demon of all things, but who was she to judge. Though, the longer E/n stays on this island, the weirder it gets. The air tasted different, and the pink rays of the moon felt different. It's not really something someone can feel, but by living with Y/n for her whole life, she picked up a thing or two. She can tell the difference between normal rays and somewhat distorted rays. Though, she can't tell what's distorting the moon rays.

And the situation at hand felt like a fever dream of some sort. Here she was, trying to dodge falling acid raindrops that were being poured down from a large bucket. One of Lyon's goons was responsible for these acid raindrops, flying over them on a flying rat. E/n knows that she'll have trouble explaining it to Y/n when she gets here. After that ruckus, Natsu had managed to beat some thugs while the woman riding the flying rat chased after Lucy.

"Maybe she's dead," E/n was overall exhausted by this job, and felt a bit annoyed flying through the night sky trying to find her. Happy deadpanned in response, telling her that she should have hope for the blonde. She rolled her eyes at him and proceeded to fly through the sky next to him in silence.

With the vast area of trees below them, Happy managed to spit a clearing. And in that clearing, he could clearly see the large rat laying on the ground in defeat. His eyes lit up once he spotted Lucy just a few feet away from her defeated appointment, and picked up speed. While he spotted Lucy and had his senses heightened, he did not notice E/n's sudden stiff posture.
