The week went pretty similar. James was stressed and we didn't see each other a lot. He left the apartment early and came home late. Sometimes I fell asleep as he arrived. In two days was new years eve and I had no idea where we would celebrate it. And I had the feeling that the next year would be tough for us. It was 11pm and I was sitting on the couch with a glass wine in my hands. James didn't tell me when he'd come 'home'. Home was a weird name for this. It had no personal aspects.

I was reading a book as the elevator arrived. James entered the room. He wasn't the James I knew. He seemed to has so much power in his blue suit. He looked sexy, but I was missing the lovely guy I met, the guy who pleased my body, my soul and my heart. He opened his tie and the first buttons of his button-down shirt. "Good evening Mr. Maslow. Good to see you." I said. It should've been a joke, but he didn't get it. "Oh come on, not you, too." He fell on the couch and threw his head back, sighed. I changed my position and stroked his chest under his shirt. "How was you day?" I asked softly. "Stressful. I have no idea why the day has just 24hrs." he complained. I tried another joke. "Because I don't wanna be alone in this cold apartment for 32hrs." I chuckled. "I know, I'm sorry, Blaire." he sighed. I came closer and snuggled into his warm body. He wrapped his arms around me. "Do you made plans for new years eve?" I asked against his chest. He took a sip of my glass of wine and answered: "I didn't have to. My parents want us to spend the night on a party in a hotel. With Melissa and her boyfriend." I looked in his eyes. "I know, I know. I'm sorry. I just don't no what to do." he continued. "Hey, it's okay. We can celebrate with Melissa and her boyfriend. We will have much more others, just for us." I answered. I had no idea who Melissa was, but if it was so important for his family, I had no choice. I had to support James. "Seriously? Oh, Blaire, I really don't deserve you." and pecked my lips. "But, tomorrow, I have the day off. We can do whatever you wanna do. Sightseeing, shopping, breakfast, lying in bed. BUT, we have to buy a dress for you. And before you say anything, I love you the way you are. But it's a high socity party. And we could buy something for the apartment here. That you feel better. What do you think?" I smiled, nodded and climbed on his lap. I kissed him.
"So, what do you wanna do?" he asked and smiled. "Uhm, breakfast in bed, buying the dress, walking through the Central Park, ice skating, carriage ride..." "Okay, okay." he laughed, and I laughed as well. "I love you." he wispered. And those simply three words meant the world to me. Because he didn't say it often. "I love you, too." I wispered. He smiled and leaned in again. He lighted me up and I laughed out loud. He carried me to the bedroom. That was the James I fell in love with.
