James

It was saturday and I drove to my parents. I opened the front door of the way to big house. They asked me a few days before to come by. And I have still no idea why. I went inside and our housekeeper Mary came out of the kitchen. She was older than my parents, but she was always like a mom to me. When my dad worked til midnight, or my mom was busy with her charities, she was always there for me and my sister. "Oh James. It's so good to see you." she said in her lovely voice and hugged me tight. "It's good to see you, too, Mary." "How are you doing sweetheart?" she asked and let go. "I'm doing good. College is great so far." I answered. "Good to hear. Oh, your dad is waiting in the living room for you. I'll bring you a coffee." she said and walked into the kitchen. "You're the best" I said and walked into the huge living room. "Dad" I said as I walked into the room.
"Oh see who's here. It's so nice of you to come to your parents house once in a while." he said in his typical cold voice. "I'm busy at college. You asked me to come and here I am. I hope it's important. I don't have much time." I mentioned and sat down on the couch. Mary came in and gave me the coffee. I thanked her. "Okay, fast business, I like it. Well, we have a huge announcement to make. And we will do it in two weeks, while dinner, right here. With the family. You sister Ally is coming with her boyfriend. And you'll be there as well." As always, no question if I'm free or not, nothing. But it didn't make sense to complain or to fight against him. So I just nodded. "That's it?" I asked. I hope he would ask for my life on college or my plans or something. But of course, nothing. "That's it." he said and looked on his newpaper again. I was so damn pissed. I got up and walked out of the living room. "Goodbye Mary. It was good to see you." I said to our housekeeper. She was the only one who made this house feel like home. "It was good to see you, too." She repeat and hugged me again. "And James?" I turned around. "Is there maybe a girl in your life?" I giggled. She acted really like a good mom. "A lot." I smirked. She punched my arm, playfully. She had no idea that it was the truth.
"You'll find the right one, James. You're such a good boy." she mentioned and stroked my cheek. "We'll see." I answered, gave her a smile and walked out the door. As I was sitting in my car, I dialed the number of my best friend. "Bro, what's up. Are you making it to the party?" Matt asked. "I will. And I need many drinks tonight." I said and drove on the highway to Los Angeles. "Oh, tough talk with your dad I guess. Everything will be ready when you're here, Buddy." he said and I hang up. He was a good friend. He never asked a lot of questions. And tonight I needed much more. A lot of alcohol and sex, to blow my mind.
