James

It was the day of the 'important' dinner at my parents house. And I couldn't wait to get out of here. Mary opened the door as she heard my car. "You look so great my boy." she said in her lovely voice and hugged me. "Good to see you Mary."
I walked into the dining area and my family was already sitting there. But I was on time, otherwise I'd get a lot of stupid comments. I hugged my mom, and my sister. My mom was a sweet person, but I guess she was under dad's spell. My sister was sweet as well, but she was like my mom.
We sat down and started with the appetizer. Mary served a awesome curry soup with shrimps. "So Ally, you wanted to tell us something? Didn't Josh wanted to come?" my dad started his family 'conversation'. "Yes. But he had to work in the hospital. A important heart transplant came in." she explained. "Right. I understand. Work first." my dad mentioned. I rolled my eyes. "And the awesome news is, that... Josh asked me to be his wife." she smiled like a child on christmas eve. "Oh my gosh, Ally, that's amazing." my mom squeeked. And she nodded. "Congratulation" was my fathers answer. it was a good sign that he didn't complain. "Congratulation baby sis." was my answer. I was really happy for her, and she knew it. We talked about Ally's medical school, about the wedding and all that stuff. Until we were at the dessert.

"James. I wanted to talk about something with you." my dad started. I looked at him, wanted to know what the 'so exciting' news were. "I'm listening" was my way to show him that he should tell me. "I want you to work in my office" he said. "I wanna retract more and more. And in a few years you'll be my successor. Right now you're successor for the office in New York. I wanna opened another branch office over there." my dad continued. "But, dad..." but he cut me off. "No, James. That why we financed your university and send you to the best college over here." "Have you ever asked about my plans?" I complained. "What other plans do you have? Huh?" he asked cold. And I knew that he wasn't really interested in what I was saying. "Maybe I wanna do something else. Maybe I wanna stay here. Maybe I wanna start my own thing." I tried to explain, but he didn't even listen. "You have the choise, son. be a part of the family business, or see how you finance your studying by yourself." he mentioned and continued to eat the Creme Brulee. What the fuck. I couldn't take it anymore. I stood up and wanted to get out of here. "I give you a week to decide, James." he said. I stopped for a second. Then I took my keys and just wanted to leave. "Are you okay, James?" Mary asked as she saw me leaving. "No, he's the same asshole as always. Your dinner was amazing. Thank you, Mary.". With the last words I have her a light smile. I was so damn pissed. I started my car and drove away from home. It couldn't get fast enough. I needed to be somewhere. I thought about Matt, but it would end in a party. And I wasn't in the right mood for loud music, bitches and alcohol.
