Raising Katie

ch. 22

Katie pov

I walked to the kitchen. I saw a light on but I didn't know who was up. I walked into the kitchen bracing myself, until I saw Ross. We looked into each others eyes. I turned away and got some food and a drink. Ross attempted to talk but didn't. I ate the food and then went back to the room taking my drink with. I laid back in the bed and fell asleep.

Ross pov

I saw Katie walk into the kitchen. I looked into her eyes and saw hurt in them. I decided I wouldn't talk to her quiet yet. She ate some food and walked back to our room. I watched her walk back.

After a while, I walked into the room. I found Katie completly asleep. I crawled into bed careful not to wake Katie. I found myself fall asleep quickly.

I woke up around seven. I looked next to me and saw Katie sleeping. I grabbed my clothes and got in the shower. When I was finished it was about eight o'clock. I walked back into our room and found Katie still asleep. I looked on the nightstand and found the necklace laying there, my heart shattered. I didn't realize how much I hurt her. I felt horrible. I walked out of the room and to the living room. I found Rydel sitting on the couch reading a book. I sat next to her.

"Morning Ross." she said.

"Hi." I said with a sigh. She looked at me and then closed her book.

"Ross, what's wrong?" she asked.

"I ruined everything. I ruined our relationship." I said.

"Ross, what happened?" she asked.

"Katie and I got into a fight yesterday." I said.

"A fight? Like your first fight, fight?" Rydel asked.

"Yes. " I said.

"Do you want to talk about it?" she asked.

"Rydel, I feel horrible. I acted the wrong way. I didn't mean what I said but I was just mad about what she said. I didn't think about where she was coming from. I want to apologize but she's not talking to me." I said.

"I think you both feel bad. I think shes just very emotional because of the pregnancy. You need to make the first move though." Rydel said. I nodded.

"Thank you, Rydel. You're the best sister ever!" I said. I hugged her. I got up from the couch and walked back to our room. I opened the door and heard the shower turn off. I sat on the edge of the bed and waited for Katie.

She walked out. We looked at each other.

"Ross, I -" she said.
