Raising Katie

Chapter 42

I'm 32 weeks pregnant and I feel super huge. It's the middle of summer and Los Angeles is currently in the middle of a heat wave so you could imagine how uncomfortable I am. My belly is so massive. 

"Babe, let's take Liam to Disney." Ross said. 

"In this heat and with my belly? Honey, no." I said. 

"Let's go somewhere indoor's." I said. Ross walked out of our room. I was laying down because I was having a lot of braxton hick contractions I called my doctor about them and she said to lay down for a couple hours and see what happens. I guess I ended up falling asleep because Ross came into the room and woke me up.

"Babe, how are you feeling now?" He asked.

"Um.." I said as I stretched. "Better." I said. 

"Good, because I think I have an idea." He said. 

"What is it?" I asked.

"Let's take Liam to Great Wolf Lodge. It's indoors and we can rent a room for a few days. It can be like a baby moon type of thing." He suggested. It was a great idea.

"Okay. Let's do it. He'll love it!" I said. Ross grabbed his laptop and booked a room for a week. 

"Okay so we check in at noon tomorrow. which means we have to leave in the morning about 9ish." Ross said. 

"Okay." I said.  I got out of bed to go to the bathroom. When I was done, I walked downstairs to cook some dinner. The boys were playing with some toys.

The next day

Ross's pov

Last night was very hard for Katie. She didn't get very much sleep because she was so uncomfortable. I loaded our suitcases into the car and made some breakfast for us. After breakfast was made I went to wake up Liam and Katie. I helped Liam get dressed and went to eat breakfast with him. After we ate, Katie came downstairs.

"Hi Katie." I said.

"Hi, are you ready to go?" She asked.

"Um yes, here is your food." I said and handed it to her. 

"Where are we going?" Liam asked.

"We are going to Great wolf lodge." I said to him.

"Really?" He asked.

"Yes and we have to get going right now." I said "So you better get your shoes on and get in the car."

Two hours later we made it to great wolf lodge. We would have made it sooner but the traffic was terrible and Katie had use the restroom a couple of times. I parked the car and we all got out to get checked in. We were an hour early so the front desk said they would call me when our room was ready. We decided to get lunch while we waited. We decided on pizza. 

Katie POV

I was hungry at lunch time so I also ordered a salad for myself. The food was so good and Liam definitely enjoyed it. After we ate, Ross got a call saying that our room was ready. We went to the front desk and got our room keys. Ross went to get the luggage and Liam and I went to our room.  I opened the door and was amazed to find a pretty large room. 

"Woah! Mommy look!" Liam said running into the cave that was just for him. 

"I see. It's so cool." I said sitting on the bottom bunk of the bed. The cave was so colorful and had characters on it. I definitely give Ross brownie points for finding this place. We took in every detail of Liam's room. The door opened and I helped Ross bring in our luggage.
