Chapter 41

The week with Ross and the family was great but Liam and I had to say goodbye. We were all the way in Michigan and had to fly back to the west coast so we left before the concert started. Liam was sad that we had to leave because he was having so much fun.

"Hey buddy, I will see you in a couple of weeks okay?" Ross said. Liam nodded and they hugged. Ross gave me a hug and a kiss and we said goodbye to the rest of the family before getting into our Uber.

I texted Ross once we arrived at the airport. 

"Thank you!" I said to the driver and Liam and I walked into the airport. I got us checked in and we went through TSA. 

"Mommy, is this plane going to be bigger than the last one?" Liam asked.

"I think so." I said. Liam has a love for planes, just like his dad. We found our terminal and sat by the window so Liam can watch all of the planes. He was having a blast. I saw some pilots come stand next to us and I knew Liam was going to be starstruck once he noticed them. 

"Mommy, that plane is so cool because..." Liam stopped stalking because he saw the pilots standing next to him. 

"Hey buddy, what's your name?" One of the pilots asked. 

"Liam." He said. 

"Hi Liam, my name is Jack. How do you know so much about planes?" Jack asked. 

"My grandpa and daddy." He said. 

"Is your daddy a pilot?" Jack asked.

"Sometimes. My daddy likes to take me on trips in his plane." Liam said.

"Sometimes?" Jack asked.

"My husband does have a pilot's license but he's an actor and musician so he doesn't get to fly a lot." I said. 

"Oh really? Who is your husband, if you don't mind me asking?" Jack said. 

"Ross Lynch." I said. 

"Oh yes, I know of him. My daughter is a big fan." He said. I smiled. 

"Here Liam, I give you some pilot wings." Jack said. I smiled and took a picture of the exchange. 

"Where are you flying to?" Jack asked.

"Our final destination is Los Angeles but this plane is taking us to Texas." I said. 

"Oh! That's the plane I'm flying!" Jack said. We talked for a bit before he had to leave. I posted the picture of the exchange on social media.

"In Liam's eyes, Captain Jack is a celebrity. Thanks for the wings!!!" I said and posted the picture. 

We boarded our plane and found our seats. Liam sat by the window. 

"Liam, you stay here, I have to go potty okay." I said. He nodded and looked back out the window. I quickly went to the restroom and sat back in my seat.

 After about forty-ish minutes, we began taking off. Once we were in the air and the turbulence wasn't so bad, I fell asleep. Liam was watching a movie and coloring.

After twelve hours, Liam and I finally made it home. It was late at night so we both went straight to bed. I called Ross before falling asleep.

"Hi babe." He said.

"Hi. I was calling to tell you we made it home." I said.

"Oh great. I was waiting for you to call before I went to sleep." He said. 

"Oh, thank you. Well, I'm exhausted and my back is hurting so I'm going to go to bed now. I'll call you when I wake up." I said.

"Okay, feel better. I love you." He said.

"I love you too. Goodnight." I said and hung up the phone. I crawled in bed and found a comfortable position and fell asleep quickly.

It's been a few weeks since we've seen Ross. Today everyone is coming home from tour and I couldn't be more excited. I wanted to cook food for the entire family because I know that it's been a while since they've had a home cooked meal. I decided to cook the family favorites, chicken and dumplings and chili. I also made some desserts. 

While everything was cooking, I cleaned the house up a bit and prepared the table for everyone to sit at. Liam also helped me a little bit too. 

An hour after I finished everything, Ross called me. 

"Hey." I said.

"Hey, we just got all of our luggage so I should be home soon." He said.

"I can't wait. Oh and I made food for everyone!" I said. 

"Yay! I'm hungry. Hey guys, Katie made us food." Ross said. I giggled. 

"Alright, well I'll see you when you get here. I love you." I said.

"Love you too. See you soon." Ross said.

The family arrived at my house and so Liam and I went outside to greet everyone. We all hugged each other and when Ross and unloaded his belongings, I gave him a kiss and a hug. Liam also hugged Ross and we all walked in the house. 

"Oh my gosh it smells amazing!" The boys said. 

"Well, who's hungry?" I asked. Everyone responded with a chorus of me's. 

"Well the food is in the kitchen ready to be eaten." I said. We all walked to the kitchen and everyone grabbed some food.

It was late at night and everyone had left hours ago and Liam was asleep. Ross and I were cuddling in our bed. Ross was rubbing my stomach and felt the baby kick.

"Oh my." Ross said looking at me. 

"Feel this side." I said and moved  his hand to the opposite side. He felt another kick.

"What?" He questioned. "I don't understand."

"There are two babies." I said. That's right, I'm having twins. I've known for a while but I didn't want to tell Ross over the phone. I wanted to tell him in person. 

"What?" Ross asked.

"We. Are. Having. Twin. Boys." I said slowly. 

"How?" He asked.

"Um, IVF." I said. 

"When did you find out?" He asked.

"When I found out the genders. I was shocked. Sorry I didn't tell you sooner I just needed time to take it in." I said. 

"It's fine. See this almost makes up for everything we went through." He said. I nodded. 

"So now what happens?" He asked.

"Well, now I'm considered a high-risk because of the twins and the fact that we've miscarried. I'm being monitored closely and probably will be induced around 37 weeks." I said.

"I'm just so happy right now." Ross said. I giggled. 

We fell asleep and I slept so good for the first time in weeks.
