ch. 3

Katie pov

I have always liked Ross but I never much about him. I just knew he was in a show, movie and R5. We walked along the beach in silence until Lacey asked him a question.

"Ross, do you have a mommy?" Lacey asked.

"Lacey Claire!!" I said. "That is very rude.." I started but Ross stopped me.

"Katie, its fine." He said looking into my eyes with his hands on my shoulder. His eyes were a beautiful brown. He picked up Lacey.

ROSS POV

"Lacey, yes I have a mommy. Don't you have a mommy?" I asked. I looked at her and saw tears falling from her eyes. I then looked at Katie and saw her beginning to cry.

"Katie why is she crying?" I asked.

"I'm sorry Ross I cant say. I think its time we go home." Katie said taking Lacey from my arms and walking away.

"Katie wait!!!!!" I called. She turned around.

I walked over to her fast.

"Can I get your number?" I asked. She looked at me hesitantly. Lacey said something to her and she smiled. she had a pretty smile.

"Yes. " She said. I handed her my phone. She put her number in, handed me my phone and walked away. I smiled.

Katie pov

When we finally got home Lacey was asleep. I put her on the couch and then I changed. I decided to start on my homework. I walked back to the living room. my phone was ringing. I stopped as memories flashed back.

*Flashback

the phone rang, mom picked it up and Lacey and I watied patiently. I looked at mom. Her expression changed.

" ok, thank you. see you soon." she said.

"Mom what happened?" I asked. She looked at me and cried. she gave us both a hug.

* end of flasback

My phone was still ringing so I answered.

"Hello?" I said.

"Hi Katie, Its Ross. " he said.

"Hi Ross, What's up?" I asked.

"Well my family and I are on our way to Disneyland and I told them about you and they thought it would be cool if you and Lacey tagged along. Would you want to come?" He asked.

"Ross I would.. We would love to but we cant afford it.." I said.

"Katie, I will pay for you. And besides I want to know you better! What do you say?" he asked. I looked at my sister. I know she wants to go really bad.

"Sure, but there's two problems. One I don't have a car and two Lacey can't find out!" I said.

"We can pick you up." Ross said.

"Fine." I said. I gave him my address and then hung up. i woke Lacey up.

"Katie..." she said.

"Lacey get up! we are going somewheres with Ross and his family!!!" I said. In a minute she had her shoes on and was waiting by the door. I laughed. then there was a knock and she answered.

"Ross!!" she said hugging his leg. He picked her up and hugged her. I grabbed the keys and our jackets and locked the house. Ross had Lacey in the car she was so excited to meet the rest of the band. I'm happy my sister is smiling again. Its the first time since Mom died. Actually today was the first time since mom died that we both smiled.

Maybe meeting R5 was a good thing. I just have to keep the secret. They cant find out under any circumstances.
