ch. 11

four months later

Katie pov

We were still on tour but haven't had a show in the last week because it was Christmas and today is Ross' birthday. We were at the cabin so Rydel, Lacey and I shared a room.

"So its still on for tonight?" I asked.

"Yeah the boys are going to take Ross skating and the rest of us will go over to the skate tinkle and set up. You and Ross will go out and at 6 you will convince him to go to the rink." Rydel said.

"Ok sounds like a plan." I said. We finished getting ready and walked downstairs.

I saw all the guys getting ready to leave. Ross walked by with his gear in hand.

"Going somewhere?" I asked. He stopped and dropped his things. He walked over to me and hugged me.

"Yeah, we are gonna go play hockey. Wanna come?" he asked.

"Umm .. no I'm good." I said. Ross had his hands on my waist.

"Please???" he begged.

"No, Rydel wants to go shopping." I said.

"Fine. But your gonna skate one of these days!!" he said.

"Ross lets go!!" Ryland said.

"Ill catch up." he said. All the guys walked out the door.

"Happy birthday!" I said.

"Thanks, love." he said. I looked into his eyes and kissed him. When we pulled back I hugged him and sent him to the guys.

We were at the skate rink setting everything up. I looked at the time, 2:30. The boys would be back at three.

"Rydel we gotta go." I said. She grabbed her keys and we left. The others stayed back to finish setting up. When we got to the cabin I changed into an outfit for our date.

I walked downstairs as the guys walked in.

"Did you have fun?" I asked. Everyone nodded except Ross.

"It would've been more fun if you were there. " Ross said. Rydel gave a hand signal everyone knew except Ross. They all went seperate ways leaving Ross and I alone.

"Let's go out for your birthday. Go get changed." I said.

"Ok. Give me half an hour!" Ross said running to his room.

I turned to Rydel who was "reading a book".

"Nows your chance. go out in two groups one now one after Ross and I leave." I said.

"Ok. Boys!!" she yelled. Everyone except Ross came down.

"what's up." Rocky asked.

"Half of us will leave now and the other half will leave after Katie and Ross." Rydel said. They split in two and six of them left now.

"He has no clue." Ratliff laughed. I giggled.

"Katie!!! You ready?" Ross said running down the stairs.

"Yeah." I said. Rydel told me to grab my skates before we left.

"K lets go." he said. I picked up my skates and Ross looked at me.

"Why do you have those?" Ross asked.

"Well I was hoping my boyfriend would teach me how to skate on our date." I said shurgging my shoulders.

"I will. " Ross said.

Ross took us to an empty place. I put my skates on and he put his on. I stood up and wobbled. I started to fall but Ross caught me.

"You ok?" he asked.

"Yeah." I said holding onto his arms.

An hour later I decided to be "done" with skating.

"Ross its cold out here. Can we go skate some place where it warm? " I asked. Ross held onto me and thought.

"Yes, I know just the place!" he said. We took our skates off and walked to the car. He drove to the rink. I sent Rydel a quick text. Ross opened the car door for me and we walked into the rink hand in hand. We turned a corner and the whole family surprised him.

"Surprise! !" I yelled with them. He jumped but then smiled and laughed.

"You knew?" he asked. I nodded while I laughed. Lacey came running to Ross. She jumped into his arms.

"happy birthday Ross!!" she yelled and gave him a hug. I smiled.

"Thank Lace! " he said.

Everyone went onto the rink and skated. Ross held my hand and helped me. He skated in front of me and then leaned down and kissed me.

"Thank you for today. It was amazing." he said after the kiss.

"Your welcome! " I said.
