Raising Katie

Chapter 39

Katie POV

It's been two weeks since we found out that I was expecting. I am four weeks and three days pregnant. I have been so tired these last few weeks that all I do is sleep.  I am also feeling a bit bloated but that's to be expected. Today, I felt nauseous all day long. It's the first time for this pregnancy and I am actually quite glad I'm feeling this way because it's a sure sign of pregnancy. 

Ross walked into the room with a tray of food. I had asked for some chicken because it sounded good but when he brought the food to me, I felt very nauseous. 

"Take the food away." I said while covering my nose from the smell. Ross left the room and came back empty handed moments later.  

"What's wrong?" He asked. 

"I'm feeling sick." I said while turning to my left side to face Ross. 

"That's good though." He said. I smiled. Liam came running into our room and jumped on our bed. 

"Mommy, daddy! Can we watch a movie in here?" Liam asked. Ross nodded and we turned on The Lego Movie for Liam. We all watched the movie in silence and just before it ended, our son was asleep. 

"What should we do?" Ross whispered. 

"Take him to his room." I answered before getting out of bed to change into more comfortable clothes. Ross came back fifteen minutes and crawled in bed next to me. We both fell asleep for the night.

3 am

I rolled out of bed and ran to the restroom. I hugged the toilet as I puked. My stomach was very upset and everything I had eaten yesterday was coming back up.  I knew it was from the pregnancy so I wasn't to surprised. I was just surprised at the time. 

When I finished puking, I brushed my teeth and went back to bed. I tried not to wake Ross but when I got comfortable he wrapped his arm around me and pulled me to him. 

"Are you okay?" he asked. 

"I just threw up." I said while I tangled my fingers through his messy golden locks. 

"Are you feeling better now?" He asked. 

"Yeah." I said and we fell back asleep. An hour after falling asleep, I found myself running back to the bathroom. I don't remember being this sick when I was pregnant with Liam. This time Ross followed me into the restroom and comforted me. I did this every hour until ten in the morning. 

"Baby, you rest. I know you are tired. I'm taking Liam out." Ross said. I nodded and sat on the couch. 

"Where are you going?" I asked him.

"Disney, he's been asking." He said. I smiled and gave the boys a hug before they left.

Ross POV

Katie was up every hour for seven hours throwing up this morning so I decided to take Liam to Disney for the day so she could rest. 

"Daddy, how come mommy isn't coming with us?" He asked.

"Mommy, isn't feeling good today." I said.

"Oh. Can we get her something to make her feel better?" He asked. I smiled. 

"Yes." I said. Liam held my hand while we walked through the park. Liam definitely got my tall gene because he is quite a tall kid. He also loves a good adventure like I do. We went to ride the Star Tours ride first. Liam had so much fun he was laughing the entire time.

Five hours later

Liam was getting tired so I decided to leave. We walked to the car and I put Liam into his car seat and he quickly fell asleep. I took a picture and sent it to Katie. 

To Katie: Babe, what do you want for dinner?

From Katie: Burger and fries and a milkshake

To Katie: Okay. I'll be home soon. 

I drove out of the parking lot and to In-N-Out to get dinner. I made it home an hour later. Liam was still asleep in the backseat so I carried him inside. He woke up shortly after I laid him on the couch. Katie gave him his food and he ate his dinner with us. 

"Did you have fun today?" Katie asked.

"Yes, it was fun! Daddy took me on the big rides and I wasn't scared!" He said so proudly. I chuckled. 

"Really!" Katie asked. Liam nodded with a big smile. 

After dinner, we got Liam bathed and ready for bed. He was still so tired from Disney. I closed his bedroom door and walked downstairs and gave Katie a hug while she did the dishes. I kissed her neck. 

"Have I told you how gorgeous you look?" I asked. Katie turned the water off and faced me. She wrapped her arms around my neck. 

"No, I don't think so." She said. I smiled. 

"Well you look stunning. You take my breath away with your beauty every day." I said. Katie smiled. I leaned down to give her a kiss. Soon enough we were making out and I couldn't have been more happy. 

"I love you." I said between kisses. 

"Me to." Katie said and continued kissing me. 

We eventually stopped and Katie took a bath for the night. When she was finished we cuddled and talked about the baby.
