Raising Katie

chapter 34

A/N 

Before the chapter begins, I apologize for such a long wait! I have a serious case of writers block for this book and seriously considered ending it but I think that I have a few ideas to use before bringing this book to an end. Thank You for understanding!

Five years later

Katie POV

Ross, Liam, and I have had a wonderful last five years. Ross and Liam are like best friends, they are always together. In the last five years we have been on two more tours and Ross has been in quiet a few movies. The band decided that they all wanted to take a break and work on their own projects. Rydel started her own clothing line, Riker started his own show, Ratliff still plays music just with other bands and Rocky and Ross started a new project, The Driver Era. 

Ross has been really excited about the Driver Era because it is new and it is not like R5, it's more mature and Rocky and Ross have the freedom to do whatever they want. I am impressed with how good their new music sounds.

I should probably catch you all up on myself. 

Well after we finished the tour five years ago Ross and I tried for another child. We tried for six months before I became pregnant. We were both so excited to have another child but I miscarried after 15 weeks. It was the hardest thing I have probably gone through next to losing my mom. I grieved for about six months before Ross and I started trying again. We've been pregnant three times since then and they have all ended in miscarriages. After going through four miscarriages, Ross and I decided to go see a fertility doctor. We have both done a plethora of tests to determine what is preventing us from getting pregnant and so far the doctor has said that Ross is perfectly healthy. As for me well, I have been diagnosed with endometriosis. When I was diagnosed, I was completely devastated but my doctor assured me that I would be treated for it. 

"Katie, are you ready to go?" Ross asked. I put my shoes on before standing up. 

"Yeah." I said. Ross gave me a hug and a kiss before walking us out the door. Liam was with Rydel and Ellington today because Ross and I were starting our second round of fertility treatments. Today, I am going to have an IUI (intrauterine insemination) done. I was hoping that this would work. The first IUI that I had resulted in my fourth miscarriage which was five months ago. 

"Hey, love, everything is going to be okay, we just have to stay positive and calm and relaxed." Ross said. I nodded. I just wanted a baby. Is it to much to ask for.  Ross checked me in and we waited to be called back. I was extremely nervous. 

"Katie Lynch." The nurse called. Ross and I stood up and walked towards her. 

"Hi, how are you?" She asked.

"Nervous." I said.

"That is normal. I am going to get your blood pressure and temperature and then I will have you change." She said. I nodded and let her get what she needed. When she finished taking my vitals, she let me change.  After I changed, Ross and I waited for the doctor to come in.

"Babe, we are about to get pregnant!" Ross said. I know that he was doing his best to cheer me up but I was just so scared and nervous. 

"I just want this to work." I said as a single tear escaped down my cheek. Ross wiped it away as my doctor walked into the room.

"Hi Katie, Ross." She said.

"Hi." Ross and I said at the same time. Our doctor talked with us for a bit before we began the procedure.

"Alright, you are done!" My doctor said. I thanked her and wiped the tears that fell from my eyes. 

"Just stay here for about thirty minutes before you guys leave and remember to stay on bed rest for three days starting today. After the three days, you can do very light activity. You can schedule an appointment for two weeks to get blood work done to see if this worked okay." My doctor asked.
