Raising Katie

ch. 12

A year and a half later.

So a lot has happened in the last 18 months. R5 released a new CD, Ross filmed a movie, Lacey turned 7, I turned 19 and Ross was 20. Rydel and Ratliff started dating. Oh and Ross' parents adopted Lacey. Ross and I are still going strong. We've been dating for two years now.

"Hey Katie, I'm taking you out tonight!" Ross said.

"Ok." I said as he sat by me. I was catching up on Heartland. My favorite Tv show. I really like it because I can relate to Amy, the main character, in so many ways.

"Seriously Ty! Just talk to her already!" I yelled at the Tv.

"We are leaving at four so in two hours." Ross said during the commercial. I turned the Tv off and went to find Rydel.

Ross pov

"Dad, can I talk to you? " I asked.

"Yeah what's up?" he said. I closed his door and sat in the chair in front of his desk.

"Dad were you nervous before you proposed to mom?" I asked.

"Ross are you going to propose to her?" dad asked.

"Yeah. Its the right time now. " I said.

"That's great Ross. She's going to like it. And yes I was very nervous." my dad said. I couldn't help but smile.

" I feel bad that I can't ask her dad if he would allow it though." I said.

"Ross, you don't know this but Katie told me that if anyone wanted anything to do with Katie they had to ask my permission. " my dad paused. I looked at him. "She said she forgot what it was like to have a dad but now she knows. She said that I showed her what it was like. So to Katie I'm her second dad. And I do allow for you to get married. You guys complete each other." my dad said. I stood up and hugged my dad.

"Thanks dad. oh and this is the ring I got her." I said pulling it out of my jacket.

"Wow that's beautiful." he said.

" I know well I better go. Thanks for talking to me." I said walking out the door. My dad nodded.

Katy walked down the stairs in a long white dress. She was a pink scarf and the necklace I gave to her for her 18th birthday. I smiled.

"Are you ready?" I asked. She nodded. I kissed her and then we left.

Katie pov

Ross grabbed his guitar out of the car. We walked along the beach for a couple minutes. He stopped and started playing his guitar.

" Oh Your eyes light up the light sky, I know you won't fade away, I know this couldn't fade.. See I gotta tell you girl, There's nothing quite like you, I love the things you do, I think I'm falling head over heels." Ross sang. I smiled. I was slightly confused.

" 'Cause you're all I want, all I need, And I wanna be your everything, Ooh, wanna be your everything" Ross sang. i began to cry. i looked in his eyes.

"When we're staring face to face, Against those perfect lips, I love the way you taste, And every time we touch, I drift away, I'm not the same" Ross sang the next verse. He winked at me and I giggled.

Ross sang. He circled around me. By this time people began to surround us but I didn't care because I was so focused on Ross.

And I wanna be your everything!" He stopped circling me and stood in front of me.

"Katie, you make me happy all the time and I'm thankful for that! I can't imagine what my life would be like right now if I didn't know you. I have loved you since that first day we met and I have never stopped." Ross paused, got on one knee, and pulled something out of his pocket.

I gasped and my hands flew to my face. Ross opened a box and a ring appeared.

"Katie, will you marry me?" Ross asked. Tears were falling like crazy.

I nodded and whispered, "Yes!". Ross smiled and put the ring on my finger. I hugged him and he spun me around. the crowd clapped and cheered. Ross set me down and kissed me.

I looked at the ring.

"Its beautiful." I said "Thank you. I can't believe I'm engaged at 19!!" I said freaking out. Ross picked up his guitar in one hand and held my hand in the other. We walked back to the car and went home.
