It was two in the afternoon and Katie had fallen asleep three hours ago because she was so tired and wanted to take a nap before the party. Last night, Vanni said everyone was going to be at my mom's house around noon, but since this gathering is to find out if we are expecting or not the party won't begin until we get there. I didn't want to wake Katie up but at the same time, I didn't want everyone waiting on us. Liam was ready to go and so was I. I decided that I was going to wake Katie up.
"Katie, babe, wake up." I said.
"Babe, go away, I'm trying to sleep." She said.
"Babe, it two in the afternoon. We were supposed to be at my mom's house two hours ago." I said.
"Wait, I thought it was only eleven?" She asked.
"No, it's two. We should get going before they call us." I said. She nodded and sat up. I let her quickly get ready and we walked out of the house about fifteen minutes later.

Katie POV
I didn't realize I had been asleep for so long and I felt bad for showing up to the party so late. I apologized to everyone and they said it was okay. Liam was excited to come to his grandma's house so he could swim. Vanni and Rydel had us play different games and it was so much fine. The distractions were quite nice actually.
"Rydel, when can you tell us?" I asked, being impatient. Plus I was feeling very drained and tired again.
"Soon, I promise." She said.
"Ugh fine!" I said. I turned to Ross and gave him a hug.
"Baby, no matter what we find out, I love you. And if it's a no, we will just try again, okay." Ross said. I nodded.
"I love you." I said.
Rydel POV
Only vanni and I know if they are expecting. None of the other family knows but us. We feel so honored to be able to know the news before anyone else. We wanted to make Katie and Ross feel so special today so Vanni and I came together to make a video but it's not completely finished yet. We need Liam's help.
"Hey Liam, can you help me and Aunt Vanni with something?" I asked him.
"Yeah!" He said and hopped put of the pool. I handed him a towel and he followed me to the front yard. I filmed what I needed and quickly put the footage into the video. When I finished, I plugged my laptop into the TV so that the video could be played and called the family inside.
Everyone took a seat on the floor or the couches. When everyone was ready, I played the video. The video consisted of many pictures and videos since the beginning of Ross and Katie's relationship. We also included the events from the past five years, but Vanni and I wanted to focus on the word, family and what we thought it meant to each of them. At the very end was the portion of Liam that included a video and a picture.
Ross POV
The video began playing and Katie held my hand. Everyone was watching, waiting for the news to be shared. I'm not going to lie, I'm quiet nervous to find out if we are expecting or not. I squeezed Katie's hand for assurance for her sake and mine. Liam was sitting on the ground below us just watching the video with a smile on his face. I gave a small smile as well.
The video then changed and showed Liam running around the front yard, in his bathing suit. It took me a second to figure out that it was the one that he was wearing right now.
"Liam, if you could have one thing in the world what would it be?" Savannah asked.
"I want a baby brother or baby sister." He said without having to think. This brought tears to my eyes. I looked down at Katie and also saw her wiping a tear away from her face.
"Why do you want a brother or sister?" Rydel asked my son.
"So I can play with him and make him laugh like I make mommy and daddy laugh and we can be best friends!" Liam said. Liam has always been a sweet kid. He is very loving and caring and he knows when something is wrong and he tries to cure the wrongness by making us laugh.
"Do you want to know a secret?" Vanni asked Liam. He nodded with a big smile.
"I won't tell no one! I promise!" He said with a serious look. Vanni whispered in his ear and he began to jump around.
"Liam, you can't tell anybody until we say okay." He nodded and ran away. The video stopped and I still don't know if we are expecting. Then a picture popped up on the screen.

I read the sign in the picture and I was shocked.
"Are you serious?" Katie screamed. Everyone was so happy.
"Rydel, are you joking?" I asked.
"No!" My sister said. I hugged Katie and she cried into my chest tears of joy. I held her tight and also let some tears fall down my face. When Katie looked up at me, I gave her a big kiss. After our kiss, our family circled around us to give us a hug. I felt like a weight was lifted off of my shoulders, like I could finally breathe.
Katie Pov
When I read the sign that Liam was holding, I was shocked.
"Are you serious!" I screamed and jumped up from the couch. I didn't know what to do but cry. Ross asked his sister if she was joking and she said no. Ross wrapped me in a tight hug and I cried into his chest for a while before looking up at him and giving him a kiss. After our kiss our family hugged and congratulated us. After I calmed down a bit, I gave Liam a hug.
"Aunt Rydel, can I tell mommy and daddy the secret now?" Liam asked. We all giggled.
"Yes you can." Rydel said.
"What secret?" I asked Liam. His hand up to his face and whispered in my ear.
"I'm going to be a big brother!" He said.
"I know! Are you excited?" I asked him. He nodded his head.

Five hours later
We came home and put Liam to bed. I was still in shock and happy I couldn't contain my emotions.
"For five years! Five years we've been trying for a baby and now we have one." I said to Ross.
"I told you we would!" Ross said and pulled me closer to him. I laid my head on his chest and listened to his heartbeat before falling asleep. I forgot how tired I was with the announcement and everything that happened that I fell asleep in seconds. I am so happy, I can't put into words how excited I am.
