Four Months later
Today, Ross and I are going to see our fertility doctor about starting IVF. I am so nervous because I really want this to work.
Ross pulled into the parking lot of the doctor's. He found a parking spot and we both got out of the car. I held his hand as we walked into the building and checked in. I was called back and we waited for the doctor to come and see us.

After the one hour appointment, Ross and I went to lunch before picking up Liam from school."How do you feel about the appointment?" Ross asked.
"Hopeful, something I haven't felt in a really long time." I said.
"That's good. I feel that this is going to work." He said.
"Me too. I will be devastated if it doesn't." I added. We ate our lunch and Ross paid for our meal before we left to pick up our son from school.

"Daddy!" Liam yelled when he got into the car. Ross smiled.
"Hi Liam, how was school?" Ross asked.
"Good." He said. We drove home and Ross and Liam played football before coming inside to do Liam's homework.
Ross and I decided to go through with the IVF process. The doctor said it would be about two to three months before we do the first transfer because they have to do tests on both Ross and I.

Three months later
It's been a long three months. Ross and I have done an insane amount of testing but today is finally the day to do our first transfer if IVF. Stormie and Mark are coming over to watch Liam while Ross and I go to our appointment.
"Good morning." Stormie said while giving me a hug.
"Good morning." I said.
"Are you nervous?" She asked.
"A little. I'm not nervous about the transfer, but more on whether or not this is actually going to work." I said. Stormie nodded.
"I hope it does. I know how much you want this." She said. I smiled and grabbed my purse before walking out of the house and to Ross' car. Ross soon came to the car and we began driving to my appointment. I held Ross' hand the entire drive.
"Love, today we could be pregnant." Ross said.
"Yes, I just hope that this works." I said.
"It will." He said. Ross also said the last time and it didn't work. I just smiled at him. He parked the car and we walked into the all too familiar clinic. I took a deep breath. The office smelt of cleaning wipes, like the ones in hospitals. I checked in and sat on the soft leather couch next to Ross. The room was calming, or at least I always thought so. Some might disagree but to each their own.
"Katie Lynch?" A nurse called. Ross and I stood up and walked towards the nurse. She smiled at me and directed me to the room. She took my vitals and then left so that I could change for the transfer.
"Katie, did I say something wrong?" Ross asked.
"No, why?" I asked.
"Because you've been quiet since we got in the car." He said.
"I'm just scared, I want this to work." I said just as the doctor came in.
"Katie, are you ready to do your first IVF transfer?" She asked. I nodded.
"I'm scared. I really want this to work." I said.
"I know, and I truly, honestly, think that it will." My doctor said. I nodded once again and laid back on the bed. Ross stood by my head and held me hand. The doctor began the procedure.

An hour later we were driving home. I was laying down in the car with my feet on the dashboard. For the next three days I will be on bed rest. I was exhausted from the transfer so when I walked inside the front door, I went straight to my room and fell asleep.
