TimeSkip: 2 Days Later
Iwaizumi's Pov:
It was around 3 am. I was unable to sleep since it just finished storming. I watching YouTube on my laptop and I got an YouTube notification and I clicked it. It was news about Oikawa. The news reporter lady kept asking questions about him getting raped. I could see the uncomfortableness on his face, I tried to tell him. After I watched the video I decided to text him.
Text Messages:
Iwaizumi: Hey babe. I saw the interview you alright?
Iwaizumi: Are you busy?
Iwaizumi: I'm going to call you
I took a deep breath and called him. He didn't answer. I started to get worried then I called him again. He answered and I gulped.
"Hey Kawa... I saw the interview."
"H-hey Iwa-chan."
"Are you crying?"
"N-no.... yes."
"I tried to tell you Kawa."
"I- I know, I thought you- you were just trying- trying to get me to stay."
"Just a little bit. Did you have a panic attack?"
"N-not yet. I feel like I'm about to have one."
"I'm here for you, Kawa."
I heard him start crying and I bit my lip. He started hyperventilating and I took deep breaths. After a minute he did the same, expect he was sniffing. When I heard that his breathing was normal again, I took a deep breath.
"Don't worry Kawa, even if you don't want me to see or hear you at your most vulnerable, I'm always here for you. I love you."
"..."
I heard his breathing getting erratic again and I sighed.
"You can get through this Kawa."
I heard him start sniffing and I gulped. I heard him stammering over the phone.
"I- I l-love you too I-iwa,"
"You're doing well Kawa, just concentrate on your breathing."
"Oh okay."
He took a deep breath and I heard him sniffing. Then there was a long silence. I heard a sigh and there was another sniff.
"I-it's worse when you're not here-"
"Sorry. I'll make sure to give you cuddles when you come back alright?"
"You- you better n-not forget."
"I won't."
He hung up and then he facetimed me. I smiled and answered it. He was by a window which showed the city. The city lights sparkled in his eyes. Oikawa is a pretty crier. Which makes him being sad, impossible not to blush at.
"W-why aren't y-you sleep Iwa?"
"It was storming pretty bad a couple of minutes ago."
"Aww p-poor us."
"Yeah... well what else happened at your first day."
"Said hi to a lot of fangirls. I met everyone else at the guild, we went over rules and stuff. And of course I- did interviews... t-the other ones were just about me getting back into volleyball."
"Today sounded like a pretty normal day then, beside from that one interview. You handled it pretty normally to me. But I could see you were uncomfortable,"
"W-was it that n-noticeable?"
"No, I've just known you for so long, and I know every time you look to the side you're nervous. I mean you have serious eye contact, so that's pretty obvious."
"D-did I do that a lot."
"Not a lot,"
"Good. But I'm happy my Iwa-chan knows me well."
"I don't."
"Hm?"
"I really don't know a lot about you, "
"Mhm. See what was my favorite game growing up."
"Apples to apples."
"When did I used to have sleepovers with you?"
"W-when your dad was home."
"See."
"I guess. Did you get some sleep?"
"Uh yeah haha, I had a bad dream... I recently woke up though."
"Was your dream about what happened?"
"I-it was almost as if it was a recreation of what happened. And it felt so real... I- I always feel the same."
"Oikawa, take a deep breath please."
"Sorry... I never told you how it felt..."
"I didn't think you needed to."
"I mean... yeah makes since I guess."
"You're overthinking this Tooru. Knowing you, you would try to hide it. But you didn't."
"I... I was going too. But I wasn't at the mental or physical capacity to do so."
"I know. But you started telling me more things that's going on with you."
"Y-yeah, see you know a lot about me."
"I guess. What time does your practice start?"
"7am"
"That's in four hours. Plus everything else... get some sleep Kawa. You'll be exhausted by tomorrow night."
"I- I don't want to hang up..."
"You don't have to... just lay down and make sure I can see you,"
"Okay Iwa."
"Alright."
