Chapter 10

Earth, 2013

"What's wrong?" I immediately ask.

"Thor is on Midgard, more specifically, he's in London," Maria explains.

"Is he okay? What is he doing in London?"

Maria sighs:

"We don't know. All we have is this footage, please tell us if you recognize anything or anyone," she adds, turning on a TV.

I watch as I see a ship similar to the one we escaped Asgard into, destroying everything on its way. Everything seems extremely chaotic. Everyone is running around; everything is being destroyed. We see the ship get to a stop, and stay planted into the ground, before Dark Elves come out of it. I recognize them from the legends. As they come out, I notice a hole forming in the atmosphere, through which we can see a completely different Realm. It all makes sense now:

"I learned about this as a child. It's the convergence of the Nine Realms," I explain, "and this man is Malekith, he was vanquished by my great-grandfather 5,000 years ago, during the last convergence. He's trying to bring darkness into the Nine Realms all at once. We need to go and help Thor," I add, as I see him starting to fight Malekith.

"This happened a few hours ago, Liv. It's over now, Thor won," Uncle Steve tells me.

"Was my father with them?" I ask.

"Who's your father?" Maria replies.

Oh, she doesn't know? So, does that mean that Fury and Tony don't know as well?

"Just another Asgardian Thor fights with," Steve explains.

So, Steve kept my father's identity secret from everyone. They only know I am Asgardian.

"Anyways, to answer your question, no, the only people with him were Jane Foster and the people she works with," Tony states.

I exchange an anxious look with Uncle Steve as I say:

"But my father was with Thor when they left. They were leaving for a fight."

I start pacing, wondering where my father could have gone. They start talking to me, but I don't listen anymore. Thor could not possibly have had the time to take him back to his cell. And my father would not run from a fight, not when he was seeking vengeance for his mother. I don't understand, so I ask:

"Heimdall, open the Bifrost."

Oh, I forgot, he cannot.

"Shit, I forgot, he's a traitor to Asgard, he can't."

I keep pacing, I hope that Heimdall, Lady Sif, Fandral and Volstagg are all right. I hope Asgard is all right.

"Does she often do that?" I hear Tony ask.

"No, it's the first time I see it," Steve replies, "Liv, are you okay?"

I abruptly stop pacing and turn to him:

"Yeah, why?"

"Uh... You're kind of flickering," he says, uncertain.

"What?"

I look down at myself to see that he's right, I keep going from visible to invisible, and I have no control over it. This has never happened to me before. I don't understand what's happening.
