Chapter 14
Earth, 2014
After getting out of the dimension, Wong gives me food again and I text Peter to tell him that I am fine and safe.
"Liv, I need to bring you back to your hotel room, someone will soon come looking for you," tells me Wong before creating a portal and pushing me through it.
I look at the mess S.T.R.I.K.E. made. At least, they had the decency to put the door back in place. I start to clean the room, when my phone rings. I answer immediately when I see that Uncle Steve is calling.
"Are you safe?" he asks.
"Yeah, I thought you were dead," I say, sighing in relief.
"Don't worry about me, I've got it all under control."
"I saw the news, who is that metal arm guy you were fighting?"
"You won't believe it, Liv. It was Bucky."
"Isn't he dead?" I gasp.
"I thought so... Guess I was wrong, he didn't even remember me," he whispers. "Anyways, I can't talk any longer, I'm sending Tony to come and get you out of your hotel room. Sam told us where you were, and Tony should be there soon."
I tell him to be careful before hanging up and continue picking up debris until Tony gets here.
"What happened to your room, kiddo?" he asks when he gets there.
"I got attacked by S.T.R.I.K.E., but I got it all under control," I reply, leaving out the part where I went to a Sanctuary in New York with a stranger.
"We'll talk about this later, now let's leave before they come back. I was sent here to make sure you were physically fine, but since you are, do you think you can teleport to the Stark Tower?"
I nod before grabbing his arm and teleporting us both to the tower.
"Please, warn me before doing this!"
"Sorry," I chuckle.
"So, listen, while I have you here without Cap, I'm doing some renovations to an old facility, and I want to build a solid containment room in it. Do you think you could blast some prototypes for me?"
"Sure," I agree.
This will help me keep my mind off Uncle Steve and his dangerous mission. He introduces me to J.A.R.V.I.S. and brings me to a testing room with various materials he wants me to blast. I take a deep breath. Wong is right, I don't have to be afraid of my powers. I hold out my hand and focus my attention on what I want to blast, before sending energy directly and precisely onto it. I look up at Tony, proudly, but he only sarcastically says:
"What do you want me to say? Good job? You just destroyed my work."
"Yeah, because you asked me to!" I reply.
He rolls his eyes:
"Yeah, but I thought this one would work, and that you wouldn't be able to destroy it," he answers, with a bit of resentment in his voice.
I chuckle:
"Sorry."
"Just keep blasting them, until we find one that works"
The afternoon goes by pretty quickly as I keep destroying Tony's prototypes, and he keeps getting angrier and angrier, which makes it very funny. I finally find one that I cannot destroy, so I turn to Tony, who, surprisingly, does not seem happy and says:
