avery's pov

" i just want to say im sorry," i say as me and kairi walked around the mall. 

" not really the missions i go on but its fine," he says . 

" how do you guys like.... do this and not feel .... bad?" i ask . " i know i would unless they deserve it"

" well all three of us grew up in this life. we were taught how to defend ourselves , and build structure. it wasn't always easy but we had to adapt to it." he says . 

" do you ever think that if you had a chance to leave this all behind and start over , would you?" i ask . 

" ... i dont think i could even if i wanted to . we grew up together and as much as we do bad things , we are always loyal to each other. if it werent for ale and mattia i would be absolutley nothing." he tells me . 

" my first ever mission , i threw up because i saw someones head explode," he tells me as ii fake gag. "it was so gross , i didnt tell anyone . if you do i swear i wil-"

" i wont say anything my lips are seeled." i laugh. 

" hey , i know you are scared of us but i promise you mattia nor ale will ever lay a hand on you." he says and i raise my eyebrows. 

" he seems , well they both seem to like you . your lucky this is the nicest i have ever seen mattia." he laughs.

" wow ... thats hard for me to believe," 

" do you have everything you need?" he ask me and i nod . 

" alrighty then , lets go"

i had a really good time with kairi and to be honest we had alot in common. we really bonded and it made me feel alot better about this whole kidnapping thing . 

" take these," kairi tells the solider . " i hate shopping"

" come on , it wasnt that bad," i smile and enter the car . 

back home

as we walk into the house kairi sighs as we approach a tall girl with brunett hair . 

" hey kai," she says while side eyeing me . 

" hi mya"

" who is this?" she questions while looking at me . 

" our hostage , avery you can head upstairs or whatever you want to do." kairi tells me.

i grab my bags and walk up to my room . that girl has a stink attitude.

i walk into my room and throw my bags in the closet. i walked out trying to find mattia because he wanted to talk to me . 

" hey , do you know where mattia is?" i ask one of the soliders . 

" last door down the hall" he replies blandly . 

i walk down the massive hallway upstairs and seen a big brown glass door with mattia's name on it . i knock before entering beacuse i dont want to see nothing i dont like. 

" come in" mattia say through the door.

i open it and close it back so he can talk to me privately. 

" you wanted  to talk to me," i say. " oh  and thank you for paying for my stuff."

" my pleasure," he smiles ." and yes , since your staying here against your will its best that i teach you some slf defense mechanisms to keep yourself safe."

" mmm okay," i reply.

" we start tomorrow, you have to listen to what i say. no aruging , no ressiting , and no questioning."
