The next day arrived fairly quick, Y/N hadn't slept at all. Her mind mulled over everything, her parents, Sunwoo, Donghyuck, and his mother. She was still in doubt, whether it was okay for her to stay or if she should have just disappeared again. She was leaning more towards the latter. But when she thought of Donghyuck, she wanted to forget everything and stay.
Taking a piece of paper, Y/N quickly and quietly wrote down a note for Donghyuck. She placed it on the nightstand before placing a quick kiss on his forehead and leaving the room.
"You're up," Mrs. Lee spoke up, startling the younger woman. Y/N nodded in response as she walked over to the older woman.
"Wanna go on a morning walk?" Y/N suggested, wanting to tell her about yesterday. After all, the man that was killed was her husband. She deserved to know.
"Of course," Mrs. Lee smiled, grabbing her coat and walking out of the door with Y/N.
For a few minutes, the walk was quiet. Mrs. Lee was enjoying the soft morning breeze with a sweet smile on her lips, while Y/N was struggling to put words together.
Turning to the girl beside her, Mrs. Lee took it upon herself to speak first. She spoke, "Did you two make up?"
Y/N turned to the woman with furrowed eyebrows. "You saw?" She responded with a small nod. "Oh."
"You don't need to tell me about it. It's a topic between the two of you and I have no business meddling," she assured.
"But it does involve you," Y/N finally spoke up. Mrs. Lee looked at her confused. "And you deserve to know." Nearing a bench, Y/N held her hands and sat her down.
"What is it?" The older woman asked.
Y/N was scared, but she put her feelings aside. "Yesterday, " she pauses, "We found your husband's murderers."
Tears welled up in the woman's eyes at the mention of her late husband. "What? Who are they? Why aren't they in jail?"
The lump in Y/N's throat made it hard for her to speak up. She held onto the woman's hand tightly. "My parents...they killed him."
Mrs. Lee was robbed of any words. She simply stared at Y/N with an expression that was hard to decipher. A single tear escaped her eye, still processing the information.
"I'm so sorry," Y/N apologized, lowering her head. She felt ashamed, she couldn't look her in the eye without feeling guilty.
"It's not your fault, Y/N," The older woman finally spoke, but her words only broke her heart even more. Y/N shook her head. "I don't blame you, and neither does my son. So why are you blaming yourself?"
